I know that Lon is a great individual and a real gentleman, I do not know how much OU pays him to be the Head Coach at OU and don't care but here is my question.

If you are the head coach and you are responsible for hiring your assistance and you pay them a fair salary, what are the responsibilities of those coaches?

Now I'm not a coach, never been a coach and don't want to be a coach but I did officiate in the Big 10, SWC and MO Conf for over 25 years so I know a little about basketball and what I know is that the coaches are responsible for teaching Rebounding and Defense so why in the hell are they not doing the teaching, last night was just unbelievable watch our guys just stand there doing nothing but watching Kansas score at will. I get the impression that our coaches are just drawing pay checks.

You won't find many "in the know" here. You will find many "who think they know" though.

Good luck.

Trae Young and dad run this team since the day TY stepped on campus. Lon sold his coaching soul the day he "convinced" the homegrown kid to stay home.

Have you seen TY commitment to defense? Obviously that's not a concern for the Youngs

I for one can't wait until he is gone and we get back to TEAM basketball. Another thing I have noticed and I don't know if anyone else has - when Blake was here his parents were involved, wore OU colors got into the middle of the crowds and became a part of the program but Mr. Young doesn't wear the OU colors seems to stand off by himself and is not part of the program.

OU is just his vehicle to the NBA.
They knew Lon would let him run the team.
He wasn't going to get that at a blue blood

What will be interesting is if Trae continues this slide and he falls outside the lottery, what is he going to do?

Before his incredible run in November and December, no one thought Young was a one and done.

Let's say Trae went somewhere other than OU,do you really think this team would be any better than last year.If Lon had recruited & signed any kind of big time big men who can score & bang inside consistently (like most other schools in the Big 12 have) then this team might not be this bad.Every teams scheme is to stop Trae & make the other players beat you.It has worked so far,& thus Trae is getting extremely frustrated.By the way he is only a Freshman.Go Sooners!!

Yes, they would be better than last year. The offense was the issue last year. We ranked 114th last year in offensive efficiency. We'd struggle to move the ball still, but James and McGusty would be scoring.Manek would as well at the beginning. Defense would likely be where it was last year, which is 40th. Currently we are 18th in offense, 108th defensively.

So would we be better than last year, yes. Would we be better than where we currently are, probably not.

We would once again be an absolute disaster on offense. We would not have a point guard, which is just sorta, kinda important.

Agreed that we still wouldn't have a good enough PG, but we'd be better than we were last year. And defensively, we'd likely be better than last year. That's the trade off.We are a lot better this year offensively than last year. We also are a lot worse defensively. Shep would be better than he was last year, but nowhere near good enough.
