Forte

So, you're saying allday92 is an OU fan?

I have no clue.

I started this thread simply to acknowledge the good play of Forte to this point of his college career. It was my recollection that people suggested he was simply a package deal and not a legitimate D-I prospect. He has certainly proven that to not be the case.

When playing with Nash, Smart and Brown he was very effective. Now playing with a less talented team he is even more effective. I am happy for the kid and simply offered some praise.

I never intended to turn it into some pissing contest over the merits of Forte vs. Cade Davis, Jordan Woodard or Cousins. I am happy with OU's players. I am a fan of the OU players. I can also appreciate the efforts of Forte even if I don't particularly care one way or the other.

EDIT - I agree with Coolm's comments.

There are 100 people on this board patting themselves on the back, discussing how good OU is, etc. And those same 100 people will be singing the opposite tune when OU loses to a TCU, OSU, Tech, etc.

I typically post about the topics that the herd isn't already discussing... For some reason it appeals to me a little more. I chime in occasionally on the pro-OU threads, but normally just read those and comment or post about other things.

Some of you guys amaze me. To say the best shooter in the Big 12 conference couldn't start for this team is just really dumb, and shows your hatred for OSU and is very aggie-like! Any coach that would trot Woodard out on the court in front of Forte would be an idiot. And I don't think Lon is that!! Cousins would just have to slide over and learn to run the point. I know, not his strength, but he could do it. And all three could somewhat share the load. We don't run that many sets that demand great pg play with our weave entry stuff. And to compare forte to Cade Davis might be the worst comparison in history. Cause they are white? Smh. Similar to Rotnei, not quite as skilled, but stronger. Got SO sick of the debate on whether Rotnei could start for us. He'd have been our best player for 2 years!!!! So what he doesn't have an nba body. This is cbb!!!

I'm moving this thread to the Smack Talk board. I you want to continue the discussion about Forte, have at it.

Forte is a great player, and we would be lucky to have him. Who knows what the scenario would really be if he was in Crimson rather than Orange?

One thing is for sure - This season, he WOULD benefit much more in our offense than OSU's. picture him playing opposite Heild. If we had Forte, I'd go out on a limb and say that we would have had Buddy or Cousins working all summer to be the starting PG. A backcourt of Buddy, Cousins and Forte would be dirty. All 3 can handle the ball. All 3 can shoot. Very similarly to that of Smart, Forte, Brown..

Those of you claiming that he would not start for us are blinded by the fact that hes a Poke! The argument is not that he would start over Cousins, but rather that we would re arrange our whole lineup for him. He is leading the conference in PPG, we would find a spot for him in our starting lineup and Woodard would be the odd man out.
