Freshmen to Watch

I thought Salvadores ate Durr alive in the finals in Moscow (?). She was so uch quicker, and a much better ball-handler than Durr. Curiously, I think Durr was selected as the best player in the tournament with Salvadores, Holmes, and Durr on the All-star five which Cox didn't make. I thought Cox was by far the best of the big girls, far superior to Holmes. Cox was the only reason that the US was able to hold off Spain when Salvadores got going. Cox got offensive boards and putbacks. At times, it was the only scoring the US had.

Watched two games with Collier when she was on the same team with Treece. Collier shot a lot, but missed a lot. In those two games, I didn't really see what the big deal was. But, they really weren't the type of games to showcase talent either. She may have just had two bad shooting nights, or mediocre.

Samuelson, saw her when she hit everything. Saw her when she missed everything. She didn't help when she was missing.

I like Salvadores by far the best that I saw for this year's freshmen. I don't think Duke will miss the guard they lost to Baylor.
