I know it's early and no one knows the level of where players will be performing 2 months from now much less 2, 3, or 4 years down the road, BUT, just for fun, based upon what little we've seen, look into your crystal ball and make a prediction of which OU player(s) you think have a real shot of playing in the WNBA.

I guess the crystal balls are cloudy today along with the weather. Okay, I'll take a shot. I think we could see Ortiz in the WNBA. Talented PGs who see
the entire court and can direct the offense in a positive way are always in demand. The biggest question about her is, is she athletic enough to defend at that level. We should know more when we play against better competition.

The real workhorse on the team is Sharane. She has everything needed to play in the WNBA except an outside shot. She will need to finish this year at a minimum of 35% BTA and I doubt she can do that.

Little is my favorite player and I would love to see her get a shot but as of now, I think she comes up short.

The 2015 wnba draft is not going to be deep, I expect sharane to drafted. Not sure if she can stick because she would have to be more of a 2guard or 3 in the wnba.

Little can do a lot of things and she can really play. She still has plenty of time to improve. Right now she's just an ok 3point shooter, that's one thing she'll need if she can get a wnba look, she has nice size for a guard.

Ortiz and Manning are two other players who could get looks in a few years. Manning is a big wing player and she's pretty athletic.

The beauty of this current team is they have a lot of very very good players but they don't have a dominant player. It is the deepest team that I can remember Sherri having. That being said, I don't think there is a single WNBA player on the team. :OUbball-logo:

I want to see how some people develop over the next couple of years.

Kay Kay: has pretty good mobility and is finally developing a touch, both for layups and on the line. She might develop into a prospect in the next couple of years.

Peyton: has some time. Plays pretty smart. Finds the open man and doesn't make turnovers. Seems to find a way to get around the basket. She may well develop into a decent shooting guard.

Maddie: If Maddie has her quickness intact, I think she could be the biggest NBA star that OU has put into the league. Size, can rebound, pass brilliantly, handle the ball. The only question is where: two?

Gabi: a bit small. I am not certain that she has the quickness to overcome her lack of size. She is still learning how to make her talents work. Borderline.

LaNesia: you always look for people who can find a way to score. Plays taller than she is. Let's see how her mindset develops.

Vivi: if she grows into basketball, she has it all. She could be a very effective power forward in the WNBA. Has a lot to learn, especially at the free throw line. But, she hass sufficient physical tools.

McKenna: Another who has a possibility. She seems to achieve results without being noticed. You can use people who make it happen, whether you notice or not. She may develop.

I don't know about Kornet. She has part of what she needs, but she must begin to use it. She is about a year behind where I expected her to be. She has more than she has achieved.

I think there are several who might make it. There is some growing to do. This is the first time I have seen what I thought was an WNBA prospect in Norman since DRob. I thought Courtney would make it. But, I didn't really see enough athletic ability in our other players.

Honestly, you're probably right. I still think Ortiz has the best chance but certainly she's no shoe-in.

At this point in time, Speedy is probably right, but after giving the crystal ball a thorough cleaning, mine says Maddie, Gabi, and LaNesia could be candidates for WNBA material. I think quickness and heart will help Gabi and LaNesia. Maddie's length and athletic ability makes for an intriguing possibility for her to play at the next level.

If Sharane really wants the wnba, then I see her being drafted and making a team. I don't think the three is as important as her ability to defend, rebound, and find a way to score.

I also see Lenecia making it, if she wants it and puts in the work.

Posts and pg's are the most needed players and I see Vivi making it........not sure about Treece.......Kay-Kay would really have to step up her game in the next couple of years. (not sure why I see Vivi making it and not as sure about Treece.....my speculations may change in a few more games and especially by the end of the season)

It is too early for me to guess about Gabi, which is weird since I have done that about other freshmen. There are just some things I see in some players that I don't in others. Wouldn't even try to explain it.

I have never seen Maddie play before last night. I know she did well in her lst and 2nd years in the first few games that she was able to play, but not having seen her then have no clue. As for the Maddie now, I do not see her making it unless she gets much better. I know coming off of two straight injuries (thinking she may have also had one in high school) is very tough.....heck,one is tough. If she wants it, hope she is able to do it.

And, to be clear, I like all the players and want them to succeed at whatever they wish.

When I think about players making the WNBA, I first think, are they the best at their position in the conference. If so, they might have a 10%-20% chance of making a WNBA team. If they aren't the best in the conference, their chances probably dropped to 5% or less. Look how much trouble Courtney had making a team and she dominated her position as a 4 time All-American. If she struggled to make a team, that does not bode well for our bigs.
