Midwest City gets big win:

#1 6A Midwest City beat the #10 team in Texas largest class, 5A to win the Fort Smith Tournament of Champions 63-49.
Midwest City jumped out to a 15-10 lead after 1 period and increased that lead to 31-16 by half time. The 3rd. period ended with Midwest City ahead 48-30.
OU signee Kaylon Williams made the All-Tournament Team and hit 6-7 from the field and 5-5 from the line for 17 points while getting 8 rebounds, a block and a steal. She had 4 personal fouls, but no turnovers in her 27:41 minutes of playing time.:chestram2:

I have a feeling Kaylon is going to be a monster on the boards, once she arrives

I don't have much game info, but I do know that Brock won it's 2nd District game against Paradise on the road last Friday with a score of 56-17. Kamy had 22 to lead all scorers. Next up is another district game, Millsap, and then on to Phoenix, for the Nike Tournament of Champions. Their first real district test will be on Jan. 7th when Brock goes to Godley, which has a player that has signed with Texas. Should be a good one.

The team they beat was 0/15 from 3pt range only one player 6.2 everybody else 5.9.I am very curious what style of play does Midwest play.

Most of Midwest City's points comes off of there pressure defense, they really dont have any shooter, but they feed the ball inside to Kaylon, and Marisha Wallace at 6'2 also.

Thanks SOONERHOOPER for the Brock update. I've searched for the games results since they played the game and had not been able to find any results. Again Thanks.

thanks grad. That what i thought ,they really took it to them. Wallace look like she had a field day why did she not want to go to OU.

Your welcome afan4hand. The Fort Worth Star Telegram doesn't give results like they used to, so I'll update as soon as I can. It might not be like the earlier post from the Northwest Tournament, but at least I'll have scores for everyone.

She has been a Sooner fan since she was a freshman. I can only assume Sherri did not offer her.

Future Sooners in action today:

Kamy Cole and the #1 2A Brock Eagles take on conference foe Milsap. Brock is the heavy favorite.

Maddie Manning and her #3 4A Ankeny team will take on conference foe #6 4A Dowling Catholic. This game should be a battle with the winner becoming the sole leader in the conference.

Good luck to both of our future Sooners.

Thanks for the info sooner. It wouldn't surprise me if Kamy got those stats in less than 3 quaters of play.
