Future Sooners

Saved the best update today for last. Yesterday my Wife and I went to watch Kamy Cole play as her Brock team took on Tolar.
Tolar is a good team with lots of hustle, and Brock led by just 2 points after 1 period before taking a 32-24 lead at the half. Brock won the game 54-41.
Before the game we had a good visit with Kamy's mom and she told us that Kamy loves OU and that she will stay firm in her commitment. (Kamy and her mom attended the OU game at TCU.)
Texas A&M, Texas, Duke, Gonzagna and others have recruited her and she continues to tell them she is firmly committed to OU (Her mom was wearing a OU cap).
After the game Kamy visited with us and upon request she autographed the sleeve of my shirt. She said it was her first autograph and she later went back to the locker room to get us two white balls that she had decoriated and signed for us. She said she is practicing signing her name upside down.
Kamy's mom said they were very impressed with Zander and that they enjoyed their meetings with our current and incoming players.
Kamy's mom said that Kamy has always been fast, at 6 mos. she was already running and had devloped calf muscles.
Also found out that in the Loss to Liberty Christian that Kamy was still sick from her pneumonia that she had during the Cross Coutry Championship and that Brock stayed with Georgetown until Kamy had to leave the game after 1 min. into the final period due to lingering effects of the illness.
She played well against Tolar, but her team will have to play better on Friday as they travel to Godley the #2 2A team. Good luck Kamy and thanks for visiting with us.

Brock has good girls basketball teams.
That's where Tech got Jordan Murphree.

OU signee Katherine Zander's Orange Park team host conference foe (#95 6A) Sandalwood, a team Orange Park beat by 36 points back on Dec. 3rd.

Brock has good girls basketball teams.
That's where Tech got Jordan Murphree.

Jordan was on the 2005 Championship team with Kamy's sister Krystal where both made the All-Tournament team and Krystal was selected as the MVP.

Kamy has 3 older sisters and while at her game tuesday she introduced us to her nephew Braydon (a real cuttie).
Her family has a long history in Brock and her ancestors helped found the town and donated land for the school. Her mom, Kay teaches and works with special needs children. Her dad, Myron is a Nurseryman at a large greenhouse buiness and has served as a school trustee for the past 13 years.
Brock finished as the runner-up in class B girls basketball in 1979 and was runner-up again in 1980.
In 1992 Brock was the State runner-up again this time in class 1A.
Again they would take the runner-up title in the class 2A in 2000.
2002 was Brock's 1st. State Title, in class 1A-II with Kenzie Cole and Kaycie Cole making the All-Tournament team. Kenzie was also selected as the tournament MVP.
In 2003 Brock was Champ again, this time in class 2Aand Kenzie and Kaycie were placed on the All-Tournament team again with Kencie being the MVP.
The 2005 team won the 2A State Title led by Krystal Cole and Jordan Murphree. Both made the All-Tournament team and Krystal was selected as the MVP.
2009 saw Brock taking another 2A State Title this time with the leadership of Kenisha Harris and then freshman Kamy Cole. Both made the All-Tournament team.
Last season Brock took the 2010 2A title again and again it was Kamy Cole and Kenisha Harris leading the way. Both made the All-Tournament team again, but this time it was Kamy Cole that was selected as the MVP.

Kenzie Cole played 1 season at OSU then trasfered to SMU. After sitting our a transfer season she then tore her ACL in a pick-up game and had to sit out the next season as well. During the 06-07 season she played in 6 games, averaging 7.8 min. of play. He had averaged 13 ppg, 5 rb. and 5 assist during her senior year in high school.
Krystal Cole also got a basketball slip, if I remember correctly it was to Kansas State.
Kamy's sisters were good players and Kamy may be even better. In additon to all the sports she has done she has also had time show hogs and I'm sure some of our current and incoming players wouldn't mind going cruising with her in her really cool Black Hummer.
Kamy and her whole family seem to have it all together and I'm glad she in coming to OU.

Wow, thanks for the history lesson on the Cole family. I like seeing things like this on the board. Sounds like a really neat together family. I agree, I am glad Kamy is coming to OU, she will be a great addition to our team.

DaShawn Hardon's 6-0 St. Thomas Aquinas team beat 0-7 Blue Valley Southwest this evening 56-18. Aquinas led 15-6 after 1 period and 32-9 at the half. The lead swelled to 46-9 after 3 periods. DaShawn had 15 points.

Future Sooners in action today:

Katherine Zander and the #15 6A Orange Park team takes on #68 6A conference foe Fletcher, a team Orange Park earlier this season beat 58-32. Massey Ratings has Orange Park as a 25 point favorite.

Maddie Manning and the #2 4A Ankeny team will travel to conference foe #30 4A Urbandale. Ankeny is favored by 22 points. One common opponent they both have played this season is Catholic Dowling, Ankeny beat that team by 12 points while Urbandale lost to them by 17 points.

Sharane Campbell and the #9 4A Star Spencer team take on the Northeast in the MidFirst Warrior Classic.

Kamy Cole and #1 2A Brock travels to take on conference foe #2 2A Godley. Being a #1 vs. #2 this game should have the feel of a State Championship game. Massey Ratings has Brock as a 8 point favorite.
There are several opponents that both have played this season, against the #2 5A Georgetown Brock lost by 11 points while Godley lost to them by 21. Against #1 3A Kenndale Brock won by 15 points while Godley lost to them by 25 points. Both have beaten Fort Worth Christian and Peaster by double digits. This game should be a battle with the winner coming out as the #1 team in 2A.

Good Luck to all our Future Sooners.

Thanks for that info SOONERGRAD.
I've got some added info on the Brock/Godley game. After 1 period it was tied 8-8. Brock held Godley to a lone Free Throw for the next 6 min., but Godley then banked in a 3 to cut Brock's lead to 13-9 and a last second 3 point shot before the half gave Godley the lead and the momentum. Godley increased their lead in the third period before Brock mounted a comeback that came up short. Brock had an off shooting night as they hit 1-9 from beyond the arc and was 6-14 from the line. Kamy made Brocks only 3 pointer and finished with 14 points. Brocks center Paige Parliment (Abiliene Christian Univerity commit) had 15 points. Godley shot 39% from the field while Brock shot 37%. Godly had 4 three point baskets to Brock's 1 three point basket. It was the largest crowd the Godly school gym has had. Godley won 38-33 on their home court so it will be interesting to see if they can beat Brock in the rematch at Brock next time they play. Should be another packed house.

Kamy only played 2 1/2 quarters because of foul trouble.
