Gallon says he's not sure if he's coming back

Yeah, just think about Tiny with another year of offseason conditioning to get stronger/quicker, to go along with a year of experience this year under his belt. He could be a beast next year. I could see him averaging 18-20 a game and somewhere around 10-12 boards and moving his stock well into the first round. Maybe a late lottery pick type.

Substitute "Willie" for "Tiny" and you will find this post a year ago on this board.

All he has to do is look at Blake Griffin. After his frosh year, Blake might have been ready for the NBA. He decided to come back and improve his game and after his soph year, you knew he was ready. Tiny isn't ready, he hasn't shown himself to be ready. If Tiny thinks he's ready, then he's an idiot and has an enormous ego, to put it bluntly. He needs to come back, work extremely hard during the off-season, and prove that he is ready. Losing the attitude would really benefit him, too.

Of course, part of Blake making the tremendous strides that he did was that he was a tremendously hard worker and was coachable.

For Tiny to make those same strides, he would have to be both as well.

No doubt about it! There is a huge difference between entering the draft based on projections and proving you're worthy of a first round pick. Tiny has NBA size and potential. But he is far from ready to play at that level right now.

Another season at OU would boost his stock tremendously, and add a few extra million to his bank account. I hope he realizes that and decides to return next year. A few weeks ago I would have said he was gone, too. But he appears to be happier now and more excited about playing at a high level. Sure hope I'm reading him right.

Tiny is not in good enough shape to play college ball, how is he going to handle an NBA season. With that said the NBA is causing its own problem with these young kids. They keep drafting on potential and sending the wrong message to kids. They should require a kid to play 2 or 3 years of post highschool level basketball before allowing them to be eligible for the draft. It would benefit the NBA and college basketball. For the few kids that just don't want to go to college they can play in the D league or somewhere else.

Blake showed improvement as the year went on. And he showed that he wanted to get better all year. He knew he wasn't ready to be an NBA player his first year. Gallon is a complete 180. He thinks he was ready for the NBA before her got here. He didn't think he had to improve.

Hit the head on the nail there. Gallon should go out to LA this summer and hang out with the Griffins. He may learn something.

Actually, he didn't. He struggled later in the year. Capel yanked him out of the Colorado game in KC because of his ineffectiveness. Maybe it had to do with him being banged up.

Not saying Blake was a head case in the least. He just hit the wall. But the dude who showed up in November was NOTHING like the guy who finished up the previous March.

Unless there are family issues from a financial standpoint that no one knows about, and that he feels he needs to make some sort of money soon (albeit I don't know if he's willing to go pro if he wouldn't be a first round pick, which he wouldn't be) him thinking about leaving for the NBA is highly foolish.

Blake Griffin averaged 15.7 ppg in conference play and 14.7 overall. 9.7 rebounds per game, 9.1 overall.

Saying he didn't get better as the year went on is just against the stats. As far as the Colorado game goes he didn't start that game and only played 15 minutes. Next game he had 20(out of 49 total points) and 13 boards against Texas.

I said it preseason, but he projects in a similar way to Zach Randolph. A lot of people thought Zach was crazy for leaving Michigan State early. But he has had a pretty good NBA career.

I can see the comparison. They had similar numbers coming out of their freshman season (Tiny actually averages 2 more boards a game). I know Randolph went in '01 when Michigan State went to the Final 4, so I don't know the extent of how Randolph actually faired that season. Tiny's posting barely better numbers on a putrid squad. Don't know if Randolph could have put up more numbers if he were on a team where he was more of the focus. Also not exactly sure if his character issues were as questionable then as they have been throughout his NBA career (except for this season, obviously).

But you're right, there are some similarities.

I assume that Coach will do the same with him as with anyone else - get the opinion of NBA scouts. I would be very surprised if any of them say he's ready for the NBA.

They should take ww with them; neither is ready for the nba. But it wouldn't hurt if they got some suggestions from the nba on what they need to do to get ready. It doesn't seem to matter to them what their coach tells them...

Really like the Randolph comparison, on multiple levels. Both have rare skill, touch and coordination for men their size. And, of course, both have some, uh, problems as well.

Randolph does finally seem to be maturing and staying in line, though. Maybe the light will come on a bit sooner for Tiny than it did for Zach.

If he wants to go, then go. Like somebody mentioned on the front page, the fact that he is even considering it, shows exactly where his head is at.

Wait a minute.

Where does he think he's going?

Sure, I like a good joke or two, but him thinking he's ready for the NBA is too hysterical and embarrassing to be funny. What a tragic decision that would be.

Or is this about a transfer?

Well I know one thing he wont go pro... It must mean he is transferring to a school like nsu where he can be a factor in the game!

This is very unfortunate to hear. Hopefully someone can make some sense to him. BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

Tiny has a chance. If he gets a lot quicker. Learns to dribble under pressure. Loses lots of weight. Guys get drafted because of probable development. He has to be either a 4 or 5. Which is he? Too slow to play on perimeter. Not developed to play under the basket. Can't run the floor with Nba Players. I am not sure where he would play.

he has lost 90lbs how much do you want him to lose?

If Tiny and Warren don't come back along with T Crock and Wright graduating next year is going to be an even longer year. Jeez.

Well according to Capel Willie's ankle might have to be scoped which raised my eyerbows a bit. As far as Tiny goes I just have to facepalm at what he is thinking.
