GAME 14 - SEC OPENER #10 OKLAHOMA (13-0) @ #5 ALABAMA (11-2) 5pm CST on SEC NETWORK

Is the rebounding problem a skill/size issue or a philosophy issue?
Multiple issues. Part of it is size but more than that we’ve done a poor job of containing the dribble so you’re helping a lot & out of position when shots go up. It’s also just harder to rebound 3s and they take a ton of them. Plus when you miss so many shots you end up defending in transition all game. That means it’s harder to get matched and you also end up mismatched so you’ve got guards trying to block out bigs all over the place when they’re already bigger than we are. They’re also playing through our backs a lot but it’s just going to be called that way on the road in this league so we’re going to have to handle it better.

We were always going to lose this game. But if we don’t figure out how to block out we are in big trouble. I can live with getting outsized on rebounds when a bigger guy is able to go up over you. But just going to the rim to rebound with no attempt to get a body on anyone is a sin with our size,

Outrebounded by 24 at this point. Offensive rebounds is -14. Are we ever going to work on this problem?

I expect to get outrebounded by a little but we are not going to compete in this league with these numbers.

The offensive rebounds are the issue in this game.

We held our own against Michigan (-7) with their size and won, out rebounded AZ, but did get hammered by Louisville. But all Ws.

With our lack of size, we are going to struggle against teams with big athletic front lines. But what we can’t have is what happened tonight- a lack of competitiveness and D that compounds the rebounding issue.

Effort issues- Second chance points and letting them get 28 FTs is what cost us this game. Not the overall RB number.

I look at guys like Northweather and wonder how that guy will ever compete in this league....especially when he just gives up on the pick/role. It's games like this that really magnify the roster holes.
