GAME 31 - OKLAHOMA (18-12) @ TEXAS (17-13) 7:00pm CST on SEC NETWORK (ready to be hurt again )

Finally got to watch the game. Usually this is where I give you all the bad coaching decisions PM made. I can’t do that tonight because I actually think he did a good job. And I hate to say it, but I think we’re better without Sam in there. Sheesh, I love the guy and he’s a great Sooner, it’s just the truth.

This year is alittle different imo. OU won two really tough games without Sam. Now that’s not to say he isn’t important. BUT, I think OU can get away with resting him if he’s not 100%. Is 80% Godwin really that much better than Luke?
Or are we a better team without him on the court 🤷🏻‍♂️

Houston went 19-1 in the freaking Big 12. Incredible. Even in a bit of a down year, there are some very good teams and tough places to play in that conference and they lost one flipping game. Man I hope he gets his natty, or at least finally has a healthy team in the tournament.

He’s 0-2 against SEC teams this year. They are a good team, but I wonder where they would have finished in the SEC?? I just don’t think they’re deep enough to win it all this year.

They lost two games in November to two elite teams while he was teaching Los how to compete and play the way they expect their guys to play. I put about as much stock in those games as I do our record against SEC teams the last three years. They obviously would have lost more than one conference game, but no way they wouldn’t be fighting for the top of the conference.

I hear ya, but losses are losses. Those two SEC teams he lost to are also better now. I just feel like they aren’t deep enough to win it all this year. If Cryer has an off night, they don’t have a ton of guys who are go to scorers. And Los isn’t a world beater by any means. It will be interesting to see who all lands in their bracket. Matchups are everything…who will be the 2 & 3 seed in their bracket. This year’s tourney should be a blast to watch.

Rewatching the game. Great to finally beat the horns. Especially on their senior night. Feels like the stakes were higher tonight than I can remember during that stretch of losses also.

My favorite play was the alley oop to Goodine. That might be the best dunk of the year.

Nice balanced attack offensively. Took care of the ball well, too. This team can play with most teams if they take care of the ball.

Booomer!

I think coaching late in games is overrated. Make shots/free throws and don't make dumbass plays. The LSU loss was 100% on Moore being a dumbass not coaching. We are bad late in games making shots outside of the Missouri game. And missed 3 of the last 4 FTs last night. That isn't on coaching.

Los is outstanding. I realize a lot of OU fans will never admit it, but his numbers are fantastic from the start of conference play on. It took him a couple months to adjust, which is expected. He was taking over for a first team All American and was the only new guy in their starting lineup, and he deferred too much early in the season and wasn’t used to the intensity and expectations Kelvin has. Since then, he has been great. He will likely be second team all conference and probably get some first team votes.

I’m not saying that they will win it all. Auburn has put together a historically great season. Duke is outstanding. Three or four other SEC teams are great. I just said that I HOPE Kelvin wins it. They are certainly in the mix. They have the second best defense in the country and a top 10 offense. That’s a combo that historically gives you a very solid chance.

I think against Texas it’s not as big of a deal as some of the teams in our conference because Shedrick isn’t someone I’m too worried about dominating athletically. And even then Wague managed 4 fouls in 13 minutes. Of course Sam isn’t going to be a great match for an athletic big, either. But he’s our savviest big and we can use the extra fouls too. If we make it to the tournament, I’m less worried about it there since we probably won’t face the same caliber big as we did routinely in conference play.

Yeah, if Moore or Fears showed up offensively we probably beat the horns by 10-15. That was a good plan by PM, some good adjustments in-game, and clean execution on the offensive side of things. Hats off! This one feels good.

yeah.....it took fears 26 minutes to make his first basket. is that moser's fault?
i'm not sure.

on another note.....wague was +8 and northweather was -5........who had the better game?

I think Northweather probably had a bigger impact if you look at the stats. But they didn't miss a FG combined.

I love the fact that this team never gave up on themselves. It would have been easy to pack it in at any point in the last few weeks but they didn't do that. Say what you will about Moser but he manages to find players that don't quit and are unselfish. I remember conversations when Trae Young was here about team chemistry. Posters said that other players didn't like him and were mad because he took their minutes. They seemed to allow that attitude to affect they way the team played. I can't help but wonder how his one year at OU would have been different if he could have played with players like the guys on this team. People at a much higher pay grade than me will make the decision about Moser's future and I'm fine with that. But whatever happens, I will always appreciate his player's attitudes.
