GAME 31 - OKLAHOMA (18-12) @ TEXAS (17-13) 7:00pm CST on SEC NETWORK (ready to be hurt again )

I love the fact that this team never gave up on themselves. It would have been easy to pack it in at any point in the last few weeks but they didn't do that. Say what you will about Moser but he manages to find players that don't quit and are unselfish. I remember conversations when Trae Young was here about team chemistry. Posters said that other players didn't like him and were mad because he took their minutes. They seemed to allow that attitude to affect they way the team played. I can't help but wonder how his one year at OU would have been different if he could have played with players like the guys on this team. People at a much higher pay grade than me will make the decision about Moser's future and I'm fine with that. But whatever happens, I will always appreciate his player's attitudes.
Can’t argue with that

I think coaching late in games is overrated. Make shots/free throws and don't make dumbass plays. The LSU loss was 100% on Moore being a dumbass not coaching. We are bad late in games making shots outside of the Missouri game. And missed 3 of the last 4 FTs last night. That isn't on coaching.
Let’s not get it twisted. If you make dumb plays to lose one game it might be on the players, but when the team does that consistently over 4 years it’s on the head coach.

Yes, and the LSU game was definitely on Moore. But the UK and Ole Miss games were on Moser and how he wanted the last possession to be defended.

This wasn't necessarily a turning point in the season to me, but the moment that stuck out to me was when the whole team showed up to see Dale retire Dayton's number. I don't think the other players had to do that, and I didn't expect them to. It showed me that these guys are playing for each other and playing for Porter. They had several chances to tank the season and didn't.

Season's not over yet by any stretch, but let's see what they can do.

If we lose to Georgia, it’s up in the air. Could go either way. If we beat Georgia, we’re likely in. 2 wins in the SEC tourney and we’re definitely in.
Depends on conference bids imo. Got screwed last year by NC State, Oregon and others winning. Have to keep an eye out for Gonzaga/SMC, Memphis and ACC other than the top 3.

They are going to money whip Will Wade to join them.
They'll have to get into a bidding war with NC State for him. Texas can win a bidding war with anyone, but NC State is paying a massive buyout in order to make something happen.

Plus, Greg Sankey had a soft ban on Will Wade coming back into the SEC. Not sure if that's still in effect. The rules don't apply to Texas, but we'll see where this goes.

This is another reason it’s silly that people act like he might be an option at OU.

The losing to Texas streak was so putrid to me it feels great that he finally exorcised that demon, of course to me we now need to start our own streak. I've been so ready to get rid of Moser, all the games he and the team have pissed away.. I can count 5 SEC games. Like i've said all along, I don't hate Moser, and i would have loved for him to be successful here. Can that happen, can he turn the corner at OU? Or is this just another kneejerk reaction because beating Texas in Austin is so gratifying? The team's body of work has been bad this conference season... terrible defense, uber softness, blowing games in crucial times. For four years it's been the same thing... good to great non con then nosedive in conference games... kind like the end of Lon's tenure. But is OU kind of putting on a streak of good play here at the end? OU has gotten blown out by the best teams in the SEC, I may be letting the glow of beating a mediocre UT team get to me. It's evident he doesn't coach/preach toughness as much as we know we need... But you have to give them/him credit they've won some games here lately against some ranked teams..... I just wonder if even if he goes on a run if he's still the guy to bring OU basketball to where we want it to be... I don't know, i'm dying for OU to be back in the elite discussion like in the past just still not sure it's Moser. What could he do with a competent big, like he supposedly signed for next year? Man, this team still is trying and sticking together... pretty conflicting!

I guess part of the answer could be how they perform in the SEC tourney? Is that enough to cover up all the horrid play we've seen in conference? Man I don't know...

Hate to be bitch after a gutsy win but once again the ending was so maddening. Can't fault Moser for the missed FT's but him flirting with a T at the end by being on the floor so long was crazy. Gave me flashbacks to Michigan and I was just waiting for it when he was all the way out at Center court. The most egregious error was not one, but two guys challenging TX last gasp shot when we were up 4. No one should have been within 5 feet of any TX player in that situation.

I was hoping someone would point out how silly it was to contest the final shot. There was legitimately only one way for disaster to strike once we finally made a FT to get it to four, and we flirted with it.

I agree he can’t be blamed for the free throws, but we also gave up an offensive redound that led to their three that put us in that spot. And the three they missed that led to that board was WIDE open. We were up 6 with 15 seconds left and let their guy dribble into a wide open three because we were back peddling as if we were worried about the guy driving. If the guy drives there, you should step aside, let him score, and send him a thank you note. We have made similar mistakes so many times in late game situations. That’s where the coaching element absolutely factors in. Whether he isn’t coaching situational awareness or just isn’t doing a good job at it, the end result is, we make the same mistakes way too often. And as for him being on the floor, not only was it ridiculous, but why was it needed? He just had a timeout to tell them what to do. If that’s not enough time to get guys lined up properly, in the 31st game of the season, what the heck is going on??
