Double team? Zone defense? Box and one? Buehler, anyone? He’s probably thinking: “Why the hell did you let Oweh take over the game?”

“When Oweh gets the ball we are going to sag off of him and make him shoot a jumper. I’ve coached him for two years and his strength is getting to the rim. We can’t let that happen”Double team? Zone defense? Box and one? Buehler, anyone?
And you would have been correct. Care to consult for pm?“When Oweh gets the ball we are going to sag off of him and make him shoot a jumper. I’ve coached him for two years and his strength is getting to the rim. We can’t let that happen”
That’s what I would have said anyways.
Classic pm-led teamI also want to add… the play that Oweh did a pick and roll that… NO ONE WENT WITH HIM… was sooo frustrating.
Ha, well PM has probably forgotten more about basketball than I will ever know but it’s not a complicated game. And you would have been correct. Care to consult for pm?
If it had been a good shooter instead of Taylor they would have guarded him.As both teams were scoring on every possession down the stretch, I would have liked to see Moser substitute personnel for offense and defense every possession. I would have had miles, taylor and cole in on defensive and dayton, goodine and Kobe in on offense. Taylor was right to take that second 3, but I would like to have seen someone with better perimeter shooting skills take that shot.
Overall I thought Moser coached the end of the Kentucky game just fine. I absolutely agree with the decision not to call a time out before our last possession. If there was a coaching mistake it was Fears (long ago) having been coached that you are never going to get a foul called at the rim on a last second call, as all officials abhor not letting the players decide the game. Early in a game, take it to the rim, like he did at the end of the first half, and you are likely going to be allowed to get to the rim or with contact, draw a foul. At the end of the game, you will virtually never get a call at the rim, the he should have accelerated to the about the free throw line, stopped and shot a short jumper. Instead, he looked right in the teeth of 3 kids, including Garrison and went right into them and tried to get a shot up on the rim. It may be he was coached properly on this end of game point and just in the moment did what he did, but if not, in my view that is a lack of proper instruction on end of game decision making.
In any event, man, wouldn't you like to see what Fears would look like in a sooner uniform next year, with his experience and an off season under his belt. I felt the same way about Trae. Would have loved to see it. Unfortunately, I will be completely shocked if he isn't one of the first 5 kids off the board in the draft. Like Trae, he is going to be a much more effective pro than college player. Unless you allow the type of grabass allowed in college, there isn't anyone that can stay in front of him. Same with Trae. Heard lon talk about that before Trae even played a game for the hawks. Kid is worth the price of admission. If he keeps his head on straight, he is going to be big time in the NBA.
It’s really not complicated.Ha, well PM has probably forgotten more about basketball than I will ever know but it’s not a complicated game.
Yeah I think there is zero chance top 5. He is more likely to slide out of the lottery than crack the top 5.Fears is good but he isn’t going top 5, I doubt top ten. What he has going for him is his youth. And there’s zero chance he’ll be back with us next year.

CorrectIf he tested the portal I bet he would get $5 million+
That would be peanuts to his top 15 draft projection but either way OU won’t get him back next year.
$5MM for 1 year?? I don't see that at all. Some of the highest portal players last year got like $2MM/year? And neither of them (IMO) have produced near enough to justify that cost. I don't know how much the market has changed YoY, but I don't see him getting more than $2.5MM...but who knows. He doesn't have a good of enough 3 ball for me to justify he's worth that much. Having said that, I do think he would be drafted in the 1st round...probably somewhere between 12-20. The thing he has going for him is that it's a weak draft as far as PG depth. Not a lot of great PGs in the 1st round. If he tested the portal I bet he would get $5 million+
