I understand what you are saying, and it was good coaching to turn the team around. But the totality of the season leaves a lot to complain about. Not making the tournament with this roster is a failure. Even had a chance to end on a bit of a high note and instead couldn’t hold onto a double digit 2H lead again.

Plenty to complain about this year!

It was impossible for OU to get anything called in the paint the last 15 minutes of regulation and OT. Attacking the basket like that, getting contact every time, and no free throws out of it is not to be expected. It certainly made it tougher to close out the game.

It is really disappointing to lose like that but I am not surprised, I am still pissed that Moser is returning next year, he should have been fired after choking multiple double digit leads losing games and I am sure it is going to be the same **** next year so I am not going to watch Sooners basketball until Moser is gone!

So kinda funny story, after attending the semis and championship game. The Crown clearly wanted to do everything they could to make it seem like more people were at the game on TV than there were.

I didn't realize this fully during the semis since we already had front row court side seats, but today at the finals, around when the game started, they had a guy wandering around the GA seats giving away unsold courtside tickets for free to try to fill them up.

Also, the GA sections on the side behind the benches (which is seen more on TV) were slightly cheaper than all the other GA seating (the whole arena aside from court side and suites were GA, for those unaware).

Not necessarily clowning on them, as I get the hustle, its just funny (especially turning down free courtside seats because the view isn't great unless you're front row with your feet on the court). I have to say that given what the Crown was working with, the experience at the event in person was well put together between the graphics, the MC, and such.

...just wish OU hadn't crumbled twice today to give this one away, but its basically just like losing a non-playoff bowl game in football now, doesn't mean much.

I don't expect it to be worse next year if Denny makes good on his promise regarding funding. And quite frankly, even if status quo funding, we've been within 1-2 games of the same result every year except the second.

You must have stopped paying attention during the 9 game losing streak.

I don't expect it to be worse next year if Denny makes good on his promise regarding funding. And quite frankly, even if status quo funding, we've been within 1-2 games of the same result every year except the second.

We could significantly improve our NIL and still fall farther behind. Plus, moser still has to coach them. It’s more likely that we get worse than we get better. Moser exacerbates our weaknesses and minimalizes our strengths. Hell, when good players play well, moser sends them to the bench for the next game.

Right. We had a top ten portal class this year and he didn’t do $hit with it. There’s no guarantee, even with an infusion of money, that we’ll have a top ten portal class next year. And we could have the second coming of Michael Jordan and Moser would still f$&@ it up.

It's unfathomable to me that still a few on here are optimistic about next year. I just don't get that mindset after what we have endured the last 5 years. He's been the same coach all along and he isn't going to magically change. Again, what is the definition of insanity?

Do you really think Denny has already found the money needed to upgrade the roster for next year? I don't.
It is a lame duck season IMO. Denny is going to need time to pull together the needed money and he knows it.
He is going to get everything in order to bring in a new coach after this coming season.

I don't think we will be more talented next year. It will be another season of missing the tourney

on the floor the entire game. Moser seems befuddled at times.

Porter is for all intents and purposes an interim coach now.

Next season is going to be uncomfortable and difficult. That is, unless the coaching carousel picks back up and Porter is able to backfill somewhere else.

Mind boggling on two fronts. First, either not knowing the substitution rule or simply not getting him to the table in time, and second, like you said, once he messed that up, not using the timeout. Not knowing the rule or not getting him to the table is a classic example of a coach who is so frantic that he doesn't know what end is up.
