Game plan for OSU

Just have to work harder than them... OSU has been gritty this year, but they lose to teams they should beat and beat teams they should lose to. They'll beat KU twice, beat WVU on the road, and then turn around and lose to some clown team at home.

In big games, OSU has done well.

I still think they have to be kicking themselves for losing to Arkansas on the last shot of the game, and blowing big leads against Tech and WVU. Losing to Texas by 1 a week ago really hurt too.

They have been "right there" this year.

I would face guard smith and make someone else score for them.

Curious who you are going to use to do that. I would love to see our D do something to disrupt our opponent for once but I just don’t think it is possible. I just picture a lot of back door layups.

No. You. Can't.

In fact, if his teammates would make layups and open shots he would probably be averaging about 15 assists per game. He's actually been unselfish to a fault since the bedlam debacle.

Yes you can, Rajon Rondo was. They only pass when they think they can get an assist. He rarely just moves the ball. Now I love that Trae picked OU & he is having a record book season, just looking at it objectively.

Odomes, he's a good defender on a bad defensive team. To have a bad defensive team you really only need 2 bad defenders on the court, which OU has at all times.

I am not sure if you agreed with me or not :-)

I keep seeing this but it's total nonsense. He runs the offense that the coach tells him to run. He constantly finds open teammates. He throws the ball ahead in the fast break to his teammates instead of dribbling more than anyone I have ever seen.

Losing has really clouded peoples' vision when it comes to Trae Young.

trae has amazing passing skills. I love watching him with that near overhead camera come up the floor and seeing his vision of the court unfold. I have the better view than him and he always finds the right pass ...and he's often throwing it to the spot the guy needs to be in order to be open if he'll just get there. thats where he's often just past their abilities. He has a sharp court IQ.

Yes, he's playing chess and oftentimes his teammates are playing checkers. He's a wonder to behold on the court.

I've always thought that about Trae since I started keeping up with him since his sophomore year. He's not a ball mover, just not who he is until someone forces him to be. He wasn't forced to in HS (even though his team his soph & jr years were loaded) and he's not made to now. I agree that there aren't any real playmakers besides him but you do have some guys who can get their own shot.

Idk if this team would be any more successful if he was a ball mover or not, I'm just stating you can be selfish while having assists. His vision is really good & he gets to the lane way better than I thought he'd be able to his freshman year.

Agree 100% with this comment. One of those deep 3's at OSU goes in during OT - or better yet, Trae fouls like he was supposed to and I think OU's season is vastly different.

Trae has not been the same since that night. I don't know why, I can speculate on a lot of things....but no-one on here knows for sure. He may not even know. He's 18 and we got to witness one of the most impressive 6 weeks of basketball by any NCAA player ever. Did the regular season end like we wanted - no. Can it change in the post-season, maybe.

Regardless for six weeks, Trae was college basketball and it was glorious to watch. I'll miss watching him drop dimes on his teammates more than his scoring when he is playing in the NBA next season.

Thanks for coming to OU Trae. You've given all of us some great thrills this year and you lead the country in scoring and assists, something that had never been done before. Wow!

With you 100% jaymou

There are some crazy insane opinions on the internet, particularly as relates to college sports, but to believe or suggest we ( ou) would have been better off without Trae, or to suggest that we would be better without him next year, --- takes the cake IMO.

By the way, who would you like to be "more involved?" McGusty and Christian James get plenty of shots. You want Odomes to shoot more? Lattin? Those guys can't hit the broad side of a barn. Manek has been in a funk for 2 months but he still gets lots of shots. I'm not exactly sure what game you guys are watching.

I would say get better quality shots and better ball movement. We have way too much dribbling and standing around defense.

Trae’s teammates constantly miss layups and wide open shots so I don’t see how it can possibly get better in the quality shots department.

this right here. MY plan is to score more than OSUx. Make a better gameplan that that darnit!!

OSU is +2 tomorrow. I'd bet the Aggies if I had to. There will be no atmosphere whatsoever in the Sprint and I can't see us coming out with more fire than them. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you're wrong too. I'd like to see trae play a few more college games.
