Ginger Reece

Saw a write about an event in Texas, and Ginger Reece of Lawton was mentioned:

"The shear ability to score the ball is what Ginger Reese of Lawton, Oklahoma, brings to the table. She got her shot off at will and was an impact player rebounding the ball as well."

I know she has visited Texas unofficially. Hopefully she has an interest in OU. She is in the 2019 class.

She came to Norman for a Big 12 game in Jan/Feb.

Re: Ginger Reece

Saw her play during the year for her HS team and I the same concerns as Mac. Not sure where she would play defensively. Similar to the Roberts girls from Classen SAS. She is definitely skilled offensively, not sure about the defensive side though.

I wonder if Sherri would offer both Reece and Gabby Gregory, since both sound like they play the same position and are undersized post players...

Karley Miller might be the instate 2019 player Sherri should be a OU priority

Re: Ginger Reece

ProspectsNation has updated their 2019 player rankings to a top 100. Ginger Reece is their #59 player and Gabby Gregory is #85...they are the only Oklahoma high school players in the top 100.

Haley Jones is a must get for OU if she's showing interest... she might be willing to leave home and play for Sherri, maybe Drob can help with the recutting of Jones... the center from Richmond Ca, Jackson is also a big body strong post, like Coates who played at South Carolina, she's been getting mostly PAC 12 offers, but would love to see her at OU as well.

I have a feeling Mike Neighbors is going to be a thorn in our side. Ginger Reese has committed to arkansas.

Not that I think reese was ever offered by OU with Gregory having an offer but I do think neighbors will be more than a thorn!

He's going to go after lots of kids and offer many many more ships than he has to give a program in the shape Arkansas is has too!

I wasn't sure if OU had offered her. I knew she had some good schools looking at her.

Have you seen a list of schools? I thought Reese was hard nosed and would help OU but, with Gregory and Karley Miller both in the 2019 class maybe Sherri is looking elsewhere...

Basketball is not a sport where you can take all the D1 players in your state and make sure they don't leave. There isn't enough scholarships and not a wide variety of D1 athletes in this state to choose from, so they have to make sure that kid fits what they want/need.

I'm surprised that the Lawton media hasn't mentioned any sort of commitment like this. The local TV station spent a whole sports report time slot on a kid from Lawton High who graduated four years ago and switched collegiate sports from football to basketball (and at four different colleges).
