I think Tramel is actually dead-on with this assessment. Kruger may be safe, but he is also a proven winner and that's what this program needs right now. Would some of you really turn over the program to Shaka at this point? At around 2 million? Seriously? Yes, he took a charge and dove for a loose ball in front of 250 media members. Yes, his team did get hot at just the right time and won some remarkable NCAA Tourney games. But he also did so with players recruited by Anthony Grant. Can he recruit? Maybe. Are you willing to risk OU's future on maybe? Can he even coach? Maybe. His VCU team did lose alot of games and were a whisker from not even making the dance. If VCU had not gotten in there would not be a single person on this board who would have thought he was worthy. Do three weeks make a coach 1.7 million dollars a year better? So while Shaka might be a nice PR hiring with a possible high ceiling, he would also be another high risk hire with the possibility of putting OU under it's already deep hole.
