Neal and Booker came were huge tonight. Tyler had 13 points, 7 boards (4 offensive) and a steal. Booker had 9 points on 3 of 6 shooting from three, with 3 rebounds and an assist. More importantly, perhaps, they were also solid on defense.

With Cam not quite on his game and Je'lon just coming back off of an injury, I don't know what we would have done if those two guys had not stepped up their game to fill the void?

I know what we would have done. Lost.

Good post! Both were money when we needed it early. Booker is going to be a stud and maybe Neal us priming for a big game vs KU.

Booker can really light it up, great stroke. Really need sharpshooters like him to come in and make shots the way college bball is played these days.

Agreed.

Booker shot 7 of 13 (53%) from three in the last three games, increasing his overall average to around 35%. That's not bad for a true freshman. He seems to be gaining more confidence with every outing.

His defense has been the biggest surprise to me. It's obvious he is a heady player who was the product of good coaching in high school. I think he has a great future at OU.

If you don't count Jelon's time, we only played 7 players tonight. Neal and Booker were our bench, and they both did a good job. It was obvious Jelon isn't ready yet. It might be another week or so before he's ready.

Great to see both of these players contributing so much.

It is like a race horse coming off a lay off. They usually need an out. Sometimes two.

Yeah, but he saved us by steadying the ship when Jordan got two quick ones in the first half

I agree, the box score looks meek, but he did a solid job of running the team w/ JW on the bench. Good to have Jelon back on the floor.

Thanks for starting this thread, Ada. The bench came up HUGE last night, and that's especially important on the road. We're almost always going to have games going forward which one or more of the starters does not play well.

Booker seems to have a bright future. Neal is one of those players which sometimes I'm thinking, "he's improved leaps and bounds since last year", and sometimes I'm thinking, "get him off the court." Fortunately, there have been several times this year I've been thinking the former.

A healthy Hornbeak will be our best sub. But it's always refreshing when the other two come up big.

They both make me happy. Neal sticks around with little PT, gets better year by year and now is a difference maker 6 man type. Booker is so much more than I expected. More athletic, more court IQ for a freshman, must be very coach-able. Why was this guy overlooked by so many name d1 programs.

For me Booker is the biggest surprise this year. We knew he could shoot but his all-around game and athleticism are outstanding for a freshman. Great pickup by Kruger!

His first couple of years here, Neal looked almost petrified any time he touched the ball. I'm sure there are a few reasons for that.

Saw it last year, but definitely this year, but he is so much more confident looking out on the court. Props to him and the coaching staff for such improvement in his game. Really nice to see a local kid, especially a good one like himself, out there playing well.

Especially happy for Tyler. He is another on the long list of guys fans became frustrated with. He hung in there, and now he is making a big impact as a Sr. :clap:clap
