Great article about our next head coach

Boren should appreciate seconded chances...

Nice read.

I'll go as far as to say that had OU hired him today, we'd win two game in this year's Big 12 Tourney.

He is THAT good.

I've heard he poops tiffany gold cufflinks

HA!! You'd think that from the sound of it. If he's hired, it seems we'll get an invite to the Big Dance on reputation and greatness alone...

All that said, it IS a good article and a worthwhile read. I look forward to seeing BCG coaching again and probably enjoying it even more now that he's had a "chance" to step back from it.

LOL...he couldn't even win with Patrick Patterson and Jodie Meeks....and he's going to win with this group.. Hilarious.

He also won at A&M when they were the worst program in the Big 12 when he took over and won at UTEP which isn't that easy to win at either.

IF Capel is fired (Big if at this point), and BCG is hired, I would be content with the hire. But the shmoozfest around here is way overhyping him IMO.

The guy can flat out recruit and coach. He is a turnaround artist. He has also been to the mountaintop at Kentucky and found that the oxygen was rather thin at that level and that it was also damn cold. Maybe he would not have wanderlust if he came.

I don't disagree that he may have taken on a form a bit larger than life on this board. However, if he has truly gotten ahold of his demons then, on the rebound, he may be a better man than many others who have not fallen so low. Redemption is great.

I would have no problem if he was our next coach if Jeff is let go. The guy from North Texas is also a really good coach as well. And unlike some, I do not know what the right next step is with Capel as I can see both sides of the passionate debate about whether he should stay or go.

Just hope things get cleared up real quick after we are eliminated from the Big 12 tournament.

:ez-laugh:

So we would beat baylor and then texas with this group w/ a coach that would be here for one day?

I would agree a better chance this could happen strictly because BCG coaches defense, and Capel doesn't.

If this team played good defense, we would probably have 5-6 more wins than we have now. (chaminade, @osu, @ksu, nebraska are 4 off the top of my head).

I like BCG, but i do agree that it is a little overblown...

If he did come to OU it would be like we would automatically be in the top 4 of the league or anything...

I think we would be in a similar position next year with him as we would be with Capel...having a chance to make it to the NCAA's...

From that point on though i could see the program building instead of the rollercoaster we have had the past 5 yrs...

He's going to inherit a bad roster. It's going to take time for anyone that inherits this thing. We are looking at 2 years at a minimum before we see marked improvement unless someone cleans house.

you really think he doesn't coach defense? You really think he doesn't know that if we play better defense, we would be a better team?
