Griner goes for 50 vs. KSU

Even for someone like her that you think can score every time down that's pretty impressive. I know it's easy to bag on her since she's on Baylor but what do think...she can be mentioned with names like Alcindor and Walton as far as college players? Good for her.

After all their injuries, KSU doesn't have an eligible player over 5' 11" and Griner played 38 minutes in this game. Kim obviously wants her to get the scoring record.

I don't think BG will break the scoring record. Also her increased minutes in this game are due to it being her last conference home game and in preparation for tournament play.

Courtney Paris would have scored 50 against a good UNM team at the Myriad a few years back. But she missed seven foul shots and still scored 43.

That was still during the time period when "Lady Lobo" fans thought they were as good or better than OU in women's basketball. I think that mindset finally started to dissipate after that beat-down (OU won by 24, as I recall).

How ironic that Skeletor Mulkey gets huffy with Sherri when a freshman, named Nyeshia Stevenson, launches a 3 point shot at the end of the game when Hypocrite U was already beaten. Years later Skeletor Mulkey leaves Brittney "I didn't recruit her to sit on the bench!" Griner in a runaway game for 38 minutes so she could score more points. Stay classy, Skeletor!

Damn, that Kool Aid in Wacko must be damn good 'cuz you're drinking it 24/7.

Game over! :clap :clap :clap

I don't think the margin in that OU-BU game, when Ny Stevenson took that shot with the clock running out, was that big. But it sure didn't stop Skeletor from throwing a fit about "running up the score." I've had no use for her ever since. And, to top it off, Ny missed the shot badly, so it had no effect on the final margin.

It's was BU's and Griner's Senior Night - her last time on that floor. It's not really surprising that her teammates continually fed her the ball, or that she dunked on KSU in order to thrill the Bear faithful who have supported her during her time in Waco.

I really would have been surprised if she hadn't had a terrific night in her last Waco home game. Kinda going to miss seeing her perform in the Big XII, but then I'm sure glad she's going - if than makes any sense.

It might have been her last regular season appearance on that floor, but Baylor's hosting NCAA first and second round games, so they'll be back there very shortly.

There's not much of that elusive quality that made Quentin Griffin so special in Waco. In case people aren't familiar, Quentin Griffin had come out of the game on his Senior Night at Owen Field when Stoops was notified that he only needed one more touchdown to set a new record. Stoops asked him if he wanted to go back in the game and he said he didn't care about records and he let someone else play.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he had the same situation come up in the Rose Bowl and a chance to break Billy's record.

So what did the other Seniors do? I'm too lazy to look up the statistics....Griner wasn't the only Senior.....But she's getting all the glory....Oh yeah, it's the "Griner Effect"....Griner aught to be singing a song to Mulky...."Your gonna miss me when I'm gone." I'm ready to move on the NCAA tourney and let someone else play her.....

I give credit to K-State they played us closer than any other team in the conference. It was a 4 pt. game with 9 mins left then they went cold from outside. As far as constantly feeding BG the ball, you can't seriously admit that if you had a defender guarding that was over a foot shorter you wouldn't give it to post all day.

BTW, I hope OU wins out in their half of the bracket and meets us in the championship. Maybe then I'll loan y'all some of my Wacko Koolaid so OU will know what winning tastes like!! Sic'em!!

Enjoy it now 'cuz that swagger graduates in May.

Yep but we still have the best PG in the league returning and an elite coach so we will be alright!

90 (their point total) -50=40
68 (KSU's point total) - 40 = 28

Will they replace her with a 28-point scorer next season? No.

Will they lose to KSU and tons of other teams without her next season? Definitely.

Can't wait.

FIFY

Maybe you're so in the tank that you don't notice just how much she influences every aspect of the game. Enjoy ten or more losses next year.
