You dont have to believe it my friend...just thought I would post what he said....no real reason to make something like that up as I didnt post anything in favor of either guy to much really

I could see Grooms being better next year, but I think Guerrero will be better a couple years down the line. I don't see Guerrero getting as much playing time as Grooms next year, he will be behind Reger and maybe Gulley

Lucky I apologize if this is true. It just sounds a little suspect to me. That is one heck of a coincidence that your co-worker travels on work related business and then has time to take in some B-Ball games. But not just ANY B-Ball games, ones that involve guys that we were after.

....he said grooms is excellent on the defense end....said grooms has above average handles and distributes the ball every well

I have heard the opposite about Grooms' defensive play here locally (and one of those people is an assistant coach in Grooms' conference). Single handedly cost them at least two games in conference play by giving up late uncontested shots outside the arc by his assignment. Deronte Clark at NWF pretty well put on a clinic against him each time they matched up.

I'm really starting to think Grooms can be a Quannas type player for us. if he's anything like Quannas, we will be in good shape. I'm excited for next season already.

:neal

Quannas was onions from behind the arc. He was very underrated by the press and OU fans as far as OU PG's are concerned. I would say he's the best PG we've had since Rickey Grace.

So, I hate to put out a comparison that could be unfair to Grooms.

Much like Eschbach was comparing Roy Finch to Joe Washington.

No worries....I dunno were he travels but he travels alot. He is our Western Hemisphere manager for our drilling division.....so he has to make trips all the time, and since he is the boss he controls his schedule while he is traveling.

I told you guys about grooms back in April!! I still stand by and think grooms was the better get...

Who was the pg in 1988/89? If you say it was Mookie Blaylock, then I disagree with this statement. If you say it was Evans or Mullins, I would probably agree. The one other person you have to consider is Brent Price. If you classify Brent as the point, I would say he was better than Quannas too.

Mookie was the PG in '89. SG was Tyrone Jones. Terrence Mullins did play some, but I don't remember him playing much. Seems like we recruited over him.

Brent Price didn't get on campus until the fall of 1989, and even then he redshirted. Didn't start playing until the fall of 1990.
