I think Grooms deserves a lot of credit today for bouncing back today. He played phenomenal IMO. I was one of the bashers during the UT meltdown, but I was greatly surprised how he and the rest of the guys responded today.

Props to you for admitting you were too hard on Sam!

I think most of us were, to be perfectly honest. He definitely redeemed himself, and then some, in today's game.

Its stunning to see him as a big offensive threat. These seniors are getting it done, I'm very happy for them.

You are getting better at this message board thing

Ada, I don't think we were too hard on him - as you know I think he stunk and was the main problem at Texas - that being said he was VERY good today.

Do you think that maybe Lon spent most of the time between the loss and today drilling the team and SAM on how to break the press? I bet 95% of the time was spent on that.

Sam is what he is. The 2 early fouls in Austin 'fouled' up his rhythm but his play lately has gone a long way to helping us bridge this time without Buddy. I think a lot of our improvement offensively can be attributed to his confidence in forcing teams to account for him as a jump shooter and his ability to get into the lane as a result. As many have pointed out, his minutes on the floor need to be managed. He is not a 30 min per game PG for the most part but his min have for the most part been really good since Buddy went down.

Last 5 games (3-2 record with 2 OT road losses):
31.4 mpg, 15 ppg (including only 3 @ UT), 25 total assists to just 10 TOs
