Guerrero set to visit KU and OSU

Not saying that.

At one time, the OU offer was as good as it got for Cezar...that's not the case anymore. You don't pass up KU offers too often unless it's for Duke, Texas, etc. I don't take any joy in thinking Cezar will go somewhere else.

TEXAS! What is wrong with OU fans? Texas is better than OU this year but is not a better program.

I like our chances. OSU has 4 PGs. KU has 1 already committed and not to mention Selby, Johnson and Taylor already on their team. and also...We were in on the Thapre before...If Guerrero commits to KU...whos to say Tharpe won't ask out of his LOI and look at us again.

Again..i like our chances..and it doesn't mean he will choose us but that doesn't mean he will choose OSU or KU. Capel has shown Cezar that we want him; Self shows him that they are desperate for bodys; Ford shows him that it don't matter if he has 4 guards on the team he is going to over recruit positions every year.

I've seen people complain that guys we're recruiting are essentially being recruited by no one else, now someone we're recruiting is being targeted by a couple of top level programs and people complain about that.

I think it's a good thing KU and OSU want Cezar, it confirms what I already suspected, the kid can play.

I'd rather recruit against KU than Weber St. *Cough (Nick Thompson) *Cough

Why would Thapre get out of his LOI?

Take your homer glasses off. UT is the main school in the 2nd biggest state in America which produces around 30 plus D1 players a year...probably more if include jucos and prep school. And this goes for both sports...We might have a better tradition or winning history...but with the right coach...Texas and UCLA are the 2 biggest programs b/c their states produce the most talent every year. We don't have Griffins, Giddens, Henry's, Ortons...coming out of our state every year.

I'm not saying he would, but I'm not saying he wouldn't. I think as a player, you never like it when your recruited to run a certain position and they bring in another player for the same position in the same class. And I've seen this happened just recently. I don't know if he signed his LOI but R. Boatright committed to WVU and then they committed J.Hinds shortly after and Boatright said goodbye. Its one thing to have to compete w/ upperclassmen but to have to compete w/ a fellow Freshman as well. And Cezar and Tharpe are both 5'11 so I just don't see them being able to keep to highly talented PGs on their roster for 4 years. If they did both go there, I would bet on anything that 1 wouldn't stay more than 2 years.

so it will be interesting to see what happens w/ that.

But signing an LOI is an important distinction. I don't see why the NCAA would allow a player out of an LOI for this reason. They would have to sit out a year. If not, the LOI means nothing. If you don't like the final class you just revoke it. That would be a major change in how things currently work.

Wake up people!!!This program is not going to attract top 100 talent, with the problems that are glaring at every recruit thet Capel is recruiting...really sucks!!Go Sooners!!!!!!!!

Its up to KU to release him.

No, I meant...are you really lumping them in with KU and Duke...they've been good, but c'mon...

I think its different w/ them and Texas. KU, Duke, UK, and UNC...they have the name and tradition...Texas has the location. They will never have the tradition that those teams have but they are at a place where winning will always be there.

We have owned Texas historically.
We've done better than them throughout time in the regular season and the tournament.
Texas has been ranked number 1 for one week in HISTORY, and that was last year.

They are better than us this year no doubt, but that's it.

Just on this year alone and maybe a 5 year span, not in total. Texas has been ranked pretty much every year for a while, they get to the tourney and they send guys to the league. I realize Texas is not the caliber of the Duke's or KU's...but it isn't that far apart. An 18 year old hardly cares for what was done in 1988.

I tend to think of program, not as historic success, but how good their location, "name", facilities, etc... all play into it. I mean Oregon football hasn't had an awesome history, but with how much teenagers seem to like them, their awesome facilities, I think they've got a great football program. Even if they don't have as great success historically as some of the blue bloods.

I hear ya...I was really just messin with ya...

kansas would have to agree to it. Given the potential losses they could have this year to the NBA (and the open scholarships they'll likely have regardless of early entries), I see no way they let him out.

I don't think he has an offer from KU or will visit. Just don't think he's KU good. We're already loaded at the point next year with Josh, Tyshawn and Elijah.

What about Thrape?
