The NCAA's been all over Miami for 8 months, and Haith was at Miami for seven years. If Haith were a dirty coach with a history of rampant cheating, they'd have more than this.
Violations happen everywhere. They were bound to find something.
Yeah, Missouri will be back next year losing this big senior class, transfers and possibly a coach.
Too bad we dont play them anymore.
Mizzou is going to be really good next year. Their lineup will be better than most big 12 teams. Pressey, Bowers, and Dixon returning along with Brown who was a top 25 recruit, Bell who transfered from Pepperdine who avg 19ppg, Ross who transfered from Auburn who led in points and rebounds, and a bunch of incoming players.
Its a good thing we aren't playing them next year.
Some of the reporting was for shock value, and unconfirmed talk by a convicted felon in jail who sounded bitter. The reporter even put in that Shapiro paid for a player to get an abortion with a prostitute Shapiro paid for. His only evidence for that was the word of Shapiro, yet he still printed it.
Also, if you read about the situation on the bball team where the reporter accused a player of getting improper benefits (cash) it was obfuscation by his part, he never even called the player or parents or coaches to confirm or get their side of the story. The player and parent's explanation was very legit as I recall. All the reporter did was sent a facebook message to the player asking for comment without saying what about, and asked Haith for any comment on a report coming out which Haith had no time to read. This happened literally 1 day before publishing the report. Pretty shady **** if you ask me. I think the NCAA sucks and cheating schools suck too, but I'll take the word of bball coaches/players who denied it with good explanation over a convicted felon in jail for defrauding millions of dollars by lying to investors.
If Pressey can become a more consistent shooter next year, Mizzou will still be a legitimate top 10-15 team IMO (50% three point shooter over his last 5 games (10/20), but only 31% overall).
Another key for Mizzou will be how well the new guys develop a chemistry and share the ball. MU's biggest strength this year isn't that we have so many guys who can score. It's that those scorers are all unselfish. Bell, Ross and Brown all have the ability to be lethal scorers, but they've all been used to being the guy. I think it helps MU tremendously to have those guys sitting the bench this year and watching how this year's seniors make it work.
I wish MU could play OU next year. It'd be a great matchup.
Agree on this. I initially felt like it was a pretty thorough report and was pretty pissed. But the more time has passed, the more it's been revealed as half-assed journalism based almost entirely on Shapiro's word (which has been demonstrated to be worth jack ****).
Haith is one of those coaches (not unlike Kruger) who seemingly everyone in the basketball world respects. I've never read or heard a single bad word about him as an individual. That doesn't necessarily mean he's clean, but it does suggest he's at least not doing anything worse than anyone else. Coaches hated Quin. Coaches hate Drew. There are reasons for that.
I think MU is also helped by the fact that we didn't bring any of his Miami assistants. They've been the ones implicated in the allegations that I've seen, and they were never even considered for positions here. It often seems like the NCAA takes it easy on a school if the coaches in question are fired.

Isn't Denmon back too? He's a stud.
