Harmon makes U.S.A roster for NIKE Hoop Summit

Interesting. Lots of experts on this board say that next year's recruiting class isn't that good. I guess there are differing opinions.

This paragraph explains the criteria used to pick Harmon and three other players. They play “a defense oriented, unselfish style valued by USA basketball.”

I have been saying for sometime that OU fans will be pleased when they learn that De’Vion doesn’t have to be taught or told to play defense. When it comes to playing hard and playing tough defense, he will lead by example.

Okoro, Harmon, Wendell Moore and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl were all excellent role players for the U17 and U18 USA teams over the summer, playing a defense-oriented, unselfish style valued by USA Basketball. After being blown out in last year's Hoop Summit in somewhat embarrassing fashion -- the fourth loss in seven years to the World Team -- USA Basketball appears to be invested in adding motivated, versatile defenders who don't need the ball to be more competitive. A similar strategy was used for the 2016 team, which went on to set a record for largest winning margin at the event with a 34-point victory.

We get rid of Lon, we lose Harmon. Which sucks, because Kruger needs to go.

Great for Harmon, I'm excited to see what he can do next year.

To me, firing Lonamd risking breaking up this class would be a STUPID decision!! We have all seen how Lon does with talented players!! We are only 3 years removed from playing in the final four!! Most of our struggles recently have been related to poor shooting...which is not a coaching deal. Was Lon a better coach when we were 12-1 earlier in the year...against good competition but CJ and others were actually making shots??!!

I understand the frustration...but Lon isn't going to coach another 10 years...so you keep him, keep all the talent we have coming in...and I could see Lon retirimg in 2-3 years anyway.

Now if next year doesn't go well...all bets are off!! But we desperately need players like Harmon, Reeves and, Victor, jalen and others!!

Stop it with the facts.

Im being a stickler but there's actually only 1 fact in his post. Im getting a pet peeve about how people don't actually know what a fact is

was LK less of a coach when we were 12-1?

No? hes the same guy... Thats a fact.

Except it's possible he is.. further, the amount of "coach" a coach is, is unquantifiable and subjective, rendering that not a fact by definition.. sad i have to teach this..

Was kruger still our coach when we were 12-1 and now? Yes. A fact

It's a fact that you guys derailed a thread about Harmon to biitch about Kruger again.

Sad, really! De’vion Harmon deserves better. When his high school teammate and a half dozen players he was helping us recruit opted for other schools, he remained true to his commitment.

Ultimate respect to you, De’Vion!!! Can’t wait to see you in Norman next season!
