How will we do next year

I don't have a really good answer to that, other than to start balancing out the classes, so we didn't have the three freshmen, Spangler, and Cole all graduating at the same time.

If LK is content having a guy like Cole on his roster in that 12th or 13th spot, I don't think having him around for that 5th year is really a big negative. That is just my take though. Guess we'll know more in 2-3 years.

Predictions from fans (like me) are not worth much, but here goes: In 2-3 years C.J. Cole will be a solid contributor that plays for a winning OU program. He may not become a starter, but he will be someone that helps the team win games. He will be a much bigger contributor than Tyler Neal. We will likely not see him much in 2013-14, but we will come to appreciate his contribution to the team in the years to come.

JMHO, FWIW.

Godbold's other offer was from Wichita State and maybe another Missouri Valley team which is on the same level as Drake and Davidson and he was a 4 year starter. Some of that was by necessity but he was a solid player for us.

what is godbold up to these days? anyone know?

Texas? Who is going nowhere in the postseason this year with all those returning players. WVU? Who is near the bottom of our conference this year. That is your argument? Baylor may lose most of that talent from this year. OSU is probably losing 2 of the 3 players that make them a top team this year. And then the top 5 class of KU. So you can discount our players without ever seeing them play a game, but assume that their talent will be that much better. The only argument you are using here that holds any water is probably KSU. Your logic is faulty. Again, you are utterly confusing the word depth with the word talent.

Did OU go somewhere in the postseason last year and yet, here we are.

Experience will be a huge key for Texas. W.V. will bounce back next season.

Theres a reason why recruiting websites are giving KU a top 5 recruiting class and not us.

Until KU stops winning Big 12's championships, they should be considered the favorites every year. After they won the Nat'l Championship in 07-08 and lost their whole starting 5 and 2 of their top 4 reserves off the bench...what did they do? Won the Big 12 again. B/c they don't rebuild, they reload with top 5 recruiting classes.

:ez-roll: do you even look at the other teams in the big 12? TEXAS returns everyone!(assuming Kabongo stays) W.V. is only losing Kilicli. Baylor is loaded with talent. KU has a top 5 recruiting class. OSU is returning the majority of their team. K-ST loses McGruder and returns the majority of their players.

You throw names on our Bench Like Bennett and Hamilton...Those guys wouldn't get playing time on the majority of the Big 12 teams and you think they give us debth.

You seem to want to minimize the losses to other teams. Kilicli is a big loss to WVU in my opinion. I will be disappointed if OU is not better than WVU next season.

Baylor loses Jackson (which is huge) and Walton that is pretty similar to Osby and Pledger. Plus OU keeps Kruger and Baylor keeps Drew. I will be even more disappointed if Baylor is better than OU.

OSU almost certainly loses Smart and the Big guy. I think OU and OSU will be pretty similar next year.

KU is going to be much worse next season. I will be very disappointed in the rest of the conference if KU wins the conference.

ISU is going to be worse next season.

Tech and TCU will suck next season.

I think OU might take a step back but I also see OU as being capable of sweeping TCU, Tech, Baylor, ISU, OSU, and WVU. I don't think they will sweep all of those teams, I just think they are plenty capable of winning road games against those teams.

I do agree that Texas will be an improved team next season but I don't see them winning on the road in Norman. I think Texas wins 8-10 conference games next season.
