their lack of heart and effort isn't just an embarrassment, it is painful to watch. I'd much rather take on some hard-working team as a bandwagon fan and come back to OU basketball next season when they have a chance to play hard and prove themselves again.

I'm pretty down on this team as well....for various reasons. Having said that, there are countless examples of teams who made a run in previous years' tournaments. It happens virtually every year. There always seems to be a team or two that everyone poopoos going into the tournament as an undeserved bid....and then that team makes it to the sweet 16. I'm not saying that is going to be us, but there is consistent precedence for this type of performance.....and that is the main reason why I will watch us.

just as easy as "dont read" if you dont like a post or thread? hmmmm ...

Was I the one who created a thread simply to complain for the millionth time about what it's like to watch the time? There's a simple solution. Why you feel the need to routinely pollute the website with your garbage is beyond me. At least come up with an original complaint, just to try and entertain someone.

The reason I feel the need to comment on your garbage is because I care about the site that you (along with several others) are trying so hard to destroy. It's become a cess pool and your comments are Exhibits A through ZZZ as to why.

Amen

I'd still like to see them make the dance... I am sure it would be fun for the players to go so why not?

That being said... I agree with someone (forgot who it was) who said that once humans start looking at this instead of just computer models that OU probably wont make it.

I think this team might benefit more from a trip to the NIT. Instead of one game and out at the Dance, maybe win a couple in the NIT. Maybe get hot and finish the season on a high note and give those that return some confidence going into next season. Of course, losing in the first round of the NIT would be a bad look if that were to happen, but would it be worse than right now or losing in the play in game of the NCAAs?

Totally agree. Just. Be. Over.

You take going to the NCAA every time you can get. No matter what it’s better for the program in EVERY WAY than the NIT or staying home.

Destroy the site? LOL - I've been on this and all the OU basketball sites far longer than you. I ran this board for years. Until I was accused of being too positive and trying to run away all the naysayers actually. You need to brush up on your board history.

Any clowns on here hoping we don't make the dance are posers plain and simple. No true fan hopes his team fails. Idc what boards you've run or not. Even bigabd who at times I'm convinced is a bigger fan of tech and the pokes than us is rooting for the Sooners. Some of you need to get a grip

That’s true, but those are usually teams that enjoy playing together. This OU team has some talent but they don’t look like they enjoy playing together or even like each other. They have not come together as a team. They play like the locker room is splintered. They look like they’re ready for the season to be over. Sure, they could make a run but it doesn’t seem likely when they give little effort.

I agree. I think we will be left out but I would rather get blown out in the first round of NCAA vs first round of NIT. There is always that “you never know” thing as well and if we got it we could just as easily win an NCAA game.

Seriously though!

They ought to make a random thread that is just "CoolM's random OU basketball thought of the day" rather than a new thread popping up every day.

We have some great philosophical quotes on here about not wanting this team in the NCAA Tournament, wanting Kelvin back, loving OSU,ect...I think the #1 goal of every team at the start of the season is to be in the tourney at the end of the season. With a player like Trae you always have a chance to win every game you play, they just need to put it together,That said I want this team in the NCAA Tournament!!Go Sooners!!:OU-logo:

Is this season any worse than the ‘95-96 season?

That's actually a pretty good comparison, though that team was never #4 in the country (or even top 25 for that matter). I remember leaving work early that day in '96 to go watch the game. I told my boss we'll probably get killed (even playing a #7 seed), but I had to be a good fan and represent...we got killed. That team got in because of an incredibly bad year for the conference, and we squeaked out an 8-6 conference record. Other than winning at home vs. Kansas (and a creative fan who did a chalk outline of Jerrod Hasse), that was a forgettable season. Again, not a bad comparison.

As for Coolm's thread, I'm still hoping we get in, but not on the edge of my seat like I was the last time we were on the bubble (1999). If we don't make it, I'll think back to late January and imagine someone telling me "You have 11 games left in the season. All you have to do is win THREE of them and you're going Dancing!"

What was the first OU basketball message board? Coolm knows.
