We are now at 11. With only Cade's coming off the books after next season, that would leave us with 3 to give for 2011-12. I'd be uncomfortable having any less than that. So unless something is in the works that we don't know about (i.e. Hardrick leaving) I think it would be wise for us to stand pat at this point.

I agree completely unless a miracle happens and we land the Terrences

With Capel's record of transfers you can never know how many scholarships we'll have by next year. Nobody thought a year ago that we would have 4 scholarship players returning this year.

my bad, i didn't see the earlier thread where ross commited to UW

Do you only want to have 2 scholarships to give out for the 2011-12 class? Would you rather have a 10-15 minute per game at best JUCO player now or someone much better than that in next year's class? That's all I'm saying.

What if we have like 8 guys leaving after next year for one reason or another? I think we need to use as many scholarships as possible and if some guys don't work out, don't renew their scholarships.

Like it or not it's worked for Ford, they are close to winning NCAA Tournaments in 2 straight years.

There is absolutely no way we should sign as may JUCO guys as we can and then kick them to the curb after next season if/when better players come along. That's ridiculous.

Just because a few bad things happened doesn't mean you stop trying to do things the right way, this isn't the pros, and given the commitment these kids have made to us, we need to make the same commitment to them.

It is a lot more likely that it doesn't happen. Could we have a turnover of one or two guys next year, very possible. But this past year and the mass exodus was the exception not the rule. I really think if we are at this point this time next year with a lot of people leaving due to attitude/discipline, etc it won't only just be players leaving.

If OU signs more juco players, it better be for the 2011 class and they should try to get the best.

This class is done.

We already have one young big in that class (Peters), I'd focus on the DFW area for more players and then get the best JUCO big available.

Did Lundy sign anywhere?

This was just a trend for last year? Try almost all of Capel's recruits since he's come here. We've gone through his recruits countless times, only Blake Griffin, Cade Davis(he will anyway), Omar Leary, and Ryan Wright stayed as long as they should have. Blake left as a sophomore but he was the number 1 pick.
