Its just awful coaching and awful recruiting that has put these guys in a position to lose a lot and criticized. I know that I am not innocent here (with Cade and the complete lack of OU talent around him), but its not their fault, its Capels fault.
Capel has a bunch of guys on scholarship that can't play at this level. I mean, Nick Thompson had like 4 points for the entire tournament. They cant even keep him on the floor. CJ Washington cant do anything out there. Cameron has been awful. Blair isnt at this level. Newell probably needed to redshirt and learn how to play point guard, same for Neal. Hardrick, well, we wont even go there.
But again, not their fault, horrid recruiting and equally bad coaching have resulted in this.
Ive seen every team in the Big 12 play, except A&M. I can tell you, every OU opponent will have more talent, size, and athletic ability than Oklahoma does this year. It was the debate of the summer, but now we know for sure. A lot of people have ISU in front of us. Hoiberg actually has them looking pretty good. They have some pretty good senior guards and they can shoot really well. No way OU wins in Ames.
This is OU basketball, and they just took last place in the Maui losing to a DII school, and they should have lost to a DII team AT HOME earlier this season (North Carolina Central A&M Technical Institute). That Virginia team that kicked OU's ass might finish last in the ACC.
Thats my rant...
