Just noticed this tweet from Seth Davis from a couple days ago after Hield won POY:

Isn't it great when a player is as good off the court as he is on the court?

I'm not surprised. Buddy is a people person. He seems to be especially good with kids. He has the personality to do well in whatever he does in the future. If it's a professional basketball career, his ability to connect with fans will serve him well there, too.

Did you read his quote when he won the player of the year award. It wasn't me and I statements. It was about his teammates, his coaches and how fortunate he is. I was extremely impressed. This young man is an outstanding person. Obviously he is a gifted athlete but he is so much more. He is a good student and everything suggests to me he has compassion, humility and many other really good characteristics. He clearly comes from an outstanding family. That doesn't happen by accident. It is the product of a very loving and supportive home.
