Very common for Sooner fans to have unreasonable expectations in every sport. I refuse to do anything more than just enjoy supporting my team and University, like I did with Capel, KS, Tubbs, Bliss, etc....
I obviously see the short comings we have, just as I did last year. I know that if nothing else, some of the guys are 1 yr older/more experienced, and we added some new blood to help with some of our shortcomings. I will not act as if Capel was the only reason we struggled, when I see we are not as talented as Sooner teams in the past.
I also will not base every post about this years team on comparing Kruger to Capel, Sampson, or Tubbs, because I don't have anything but support and hope for whoever is coaching, and I don't want to flood the board with my previous coach rhetoric that a few here live to spew.
Amath. M'Baye.Seeing the first two exhibition games has caused me to get REALLY pumped for the 2013 season. Got a chance to turn a corner then.
As for 2012, I look forward to, hopefully, improving every night.
I think there is a significant distinction between expectations and goals that is being overlooked. Expectations are things that are taken as a given, goals are things you work for to try to achieve. Just like any other season, I think that the goal for the OUMBB should be to make it to the NCAA Tournament. Just like any other season, I think that the expectation should be that our kids are prepared and play hard.
To emphasize the distinction, I do not believe that Jeff Capel was let go because he failed to reach the goal of making the NCAA two years in a row, but because he failed to live up to expectations two years in a row. In fact, it was his termination that crystallized in my mind the distinction between expectations and goals from a fans perspective. Everything I've seen from CLK leads me to think that he will meet expectations this season; whether his team is able to reach a standard goal of the OUMBB program is TBD.

How do we know he is not being hyped like osby was? I think osby will be great but he is def not a program changer
Because I've seen it with my own eyes, multiple times.

Don't be too quick to sell Osby short. Relative to where the program is right now. He will be a big factor.
As far as M'buy. He is the real deal/
