...the days when we would beat the Aggies on their court and and ours. I live in Houston and used to go to quite a few OU-ATM games in CS. They used to have some really bad players with next to no talent. But, they had alot of fight and even though OU way outclassed them and beat them like a dog in Norman, they would usually keep it somewhat close in CS because they competed like crazed dogs. Wow, how things change.

I don't care how OU got here. I know the dead horse is mutilated on this subject, i don't care. I don't care how OU got in this situation, but with a program with our history and tradition, its inexcusable. There are alot of OU fans that think OU is football only and are apathetic towards BBall. Well, there are alot of us who grew up on Billy Tubbs and Kelvin, and are a little spoiled. We actually looked forward to basketball season, not only after a disappointing football season but on the merits of the program itself. Well, this winter is going to suck, thanks Jeff.

I never thought any coach would actually do this bad at this place. There are so many coaches at other places that do so much more with so much less facilities, tradition, etc that its really mind-blowing. When Capel was hired I thought he was one of those coaches. Geez how wrong was I.

OU as a sports program overall used to could brag that we were very good to great in the 3 big sports. Living down here in Texas i could always run BBall smack to all my Texas friends, no matter what school. We owned all of them. Boy those days sure were nice, and they are now gone. We, OU really are the worst in the conference? Wow, OU?

1. NCAA, please deliver whatever you are going to deliver us, how long do you freaking need?
2. Joe, show some balls and cut bait.
3. Do your research(even hire whatever coach hiring consultants you need to) and find a competent coach.
4. Whoever the next coach is, will you please embrace the tradition of OU Basketball and let it work for you.

Anyway, thats my jumbled thoughts, and I do feel a LITTLE better. That is all, good night!

PS--OU players, those of you laying your guts on the line every night, thank you even though you suck. And Jeff, be a man and give back some of that money from that fat contract you *****ed for after Blake got us to the Elite 8. You've done nothing but stayed out of the way of greatness, and now that that you dont have any greatness you really stink. Next.

After proofreading this, I think I'll give myself the tongue.:clap

This is what I can't stop thinking. I feel like I've been just walking around in a daze. How could this have happened? I never could have imagined it.

Did anyone listen to any of the radio broadcast while watching the game? Houck is clearly having to bite his tongue. He criticized Nick Thompson at one point more forcefully than I have ever heard him. He seemed really exasperated.

I think any one who supports the program has to be exasperated. The product that was on the court today was just sad and depressing for me as a fan.

Agreed. How the mighty have fallen.

what's bad is - I really like Jeff Capel.

I also don't think he's a horrendous coach.

That said, I think he's been in way over his head. I see glimmers of things that IMO we should be doing, but I don't see an overall plan that I am confident will get us over the hump and back into winning.

Had our program been in a little better shape then I believe we coulda dealt with JC.

Completely agree. He has just made errors in recruiting that have collectively been so bad that it is baffling.

I think (at least I hope) he has learned these lessons in that evaluating the character of the recruits shouldn't be underestimated. However, I don't know if he will be here long enough to see those lessons being verified.

I miss Kelvin ball. :(

I agree with the premise of the OP but I have to say you really shouldn't tell 18-22 year old kids they suck. They can't help it they were recruited by a bcs program to come and play with minimal coaching.

Man, this is going to be a depressing place for the foreseeable future.

I usually try to make as many games as I can but I find myself making more excuses not to go this year. The two-hour drive just seems longer and there isn't much joy in the return trip. At least the seats are better.

Boomer Sooner!

Agree the kids are who they are and it is very evident that we do not have the talent to compete in the Big 12. With that said, the coach is also who he is and he is way over his head in the Big 12. Very evident now Blake was the only reason we won for a couple of years.

In football we reload because we recruit and coach well. We need a basketball coach that can to the same. Jeff Capel can't do that.

I agree 100%. I just don't see the point in telling the players "you suck". That's all.

They haven't even quit on Capel yet. Just wait until a couple of these 18-22 year olds figure out Capel is afoul and their ***** (skip practice and play). When that happens OU is really going to get killed by people.

For those that don't think this is going to happen, I would suggest that watching ATM wasxlesson one and they have 15 lessons to go.
