that Grooms, Cam, Neal and Blair Jr are ready to knock down some open threes because you know that teams are going to be keying on Pledger the rest of the season.

Santa Clara tried the Gottleib/Balbay treatment on Sam Grooms earlier this year with some success but I think Sam is too good of a shooter for teams to get away with that going forward.

Blair has looked pretty comfortable shooting the three this year and hopefully will carry that into conference play.

I worry about what will happen, if Pledger has an off game. Can the rest of the team pick him up, the way he picked up the team against Houston? No one can be great every night. One of these days Pledger is going to have an off shooting night and someone else id going to have to pick up the slack.

To add to that, I'm hoping that when that does happen (Pledger has an off shooting night) that he still defends and rebounds at a high level.

I will say that if you look at the St. Louis game that I'm afraid is what will happen. Pledger had 35 minutes, shot 31 percent total field goal percentage, and finished with 11 points. Of course, nobody really did pick up their play in the second half of that game..foul trouble and such.

Pledger was 0-2 from three in the ORU game, but made up for it by scoring 17points on 6-11 shooting from the field and 5 for 5 from the free throw line. He also contributed 3 rebs, 3 assists and 2 steals.

He could not have done that If a team had game planned to limit his touches from behind the arc last year.

Neal has shown that he is a big time 3 point shooter. I think Grooms can make open 3s as well. Still, if Pledger gets shut down we are going to have get a lot out of Osby and Fitz.

Personally I felt like foul trouble hurt OU more than Pledger having a bad night. Fitz and Osby were both in foul trouble all night. They combined for 18 points and 8 boards on 41 minutes with Osby getting 14 and 6 on 24 minutes. OU just doesn't have the post depth to have both of them on the bench that much.

If 11 points, 3 boards, 2 assists and 1 block is a terrible night for Pledger he is going to have some great numbers this season. Granted he only shot 4 of 13 but I think that was because Saint Louis could really get after the perimeter because OU had no inside presence due to foul trouble.
