The loss last night had nothing, and i will say it again, NOTHING to do with the refs...
What did have an effect was a break down in offensive execution and defensive presence in the paint...
Just like every game there were calls that should have been made and some that shouldnt...but overall the team ran out of gas and stopped executing on both ends...
It didn't cost us the game, but it didn't help us either. I thought the game was lost when we went through that stretch where we stopped moving the ball around and started jacking up 3's. IMO that would have been a good time to force feed Tiny but we lost our legs there near the end.
They talked about not getting Tiny the ball, but we had gotten it to him a few times and he settled for jumpshots...he was tired...He wasnt down there demanding the ball like he was in the first half...
All a product of a non-existent bench...

It should not be surprising that KU and UT are where they are with the fouls at home. As for OSU it doesn't surprise me that much. They aren't a team that is able to pick up the non shooting fouls by throwing the ball into the post and drawing one like KU and UT can. They also play good defense without fouling which keeps the foul count down as well.
Kind of off topic - but does OSU play a less aggressive defense than they used to under either Sutton. I don't watch them a lot, but it seemed that they used to be very aggressive and would end up in serious foul trouble on the road.
OSU does not get after it defensively as much as they used to.
They just hack away until the ref gets tired of making those calls. Hence the anomaly on the home/away team comparison above. They get their share called up front, but as the game goes on the ref swallows his whistle.
Gary Blair, the Texas A&M women's coach has stated that one of the reasons he plays such an aggressive defense is because he wants to put pressure on the officials. He say that they get tired of blowing the whistle, even though they see the fouls, which works in A&M's favor. Any official that follows this pattern should have their whistle repossessed.
The big 12 officials in womens basketball are as bad as any officials I've ever seen. Blair is placing too much of the game in their hands by using this mentality but it's worked out for him and the band of thugs he has in CS. (they aren't thugs in real life but they play womens thug-ball)
Kelvin's teams played a very physical style of basketball, as did Suttons. The games between those 2 teams were always all about defense. OU was always very physical, something I wish we were this year.
