Why more players, when they are in trouble by the baseline or sideline, don't bounce the ball of the defender's knee/leg.

Tyler Neal had a play on Thursday where he could have done that. In the Dayton/Cuse game, a Dayton player could have easily done it.

Instead, they turn the ball over, or waste timeouts. I know it isn't always an option, but it's an option, a good option, far more often than it is actually done.
 
Or inbounding it to the corner when teams are full court pressing. Dayton just got really lucky twice. Once he called a timeout (after he walked) and the other Syracuse got over-aggressive and fouled when they had an easy trap.
 
And they just stepped out of bounds in the corner and almost cost them the game.

Quick thinking does not come naturally to everybody. This is often a split-second decision.
