It is better for OU for KU to win the conference this year and finish in the top 5-7 range. This is true for a couple of reasons. One we have to recruit more directly against OSU. Second the national perception of OSU winning the conference would likely be the conference is down. If OSU, KSU and OU push KU and they win, then it is a good conference. It shouldn't be that way but I believe it is.

Why would we want OSU to win that game and be in position to win the conference. That makes no sense to me. Also, KU winning that game doesn't mean they will win it. They have a very tough game tonight in Ames.
