Source close to the OU program tells me tonight Bruce Weber will be named the next OU head coach as early as Friday...

Wow! I'd be thrilled...who thought we could have gotten a proven coach at a Big Div-1 school like Illinois after being turned down by others??

also true, but here's a fair question...Let's say Bruce was the OU coach and he took us to a championship and then subsequently goes on to have a 111-77 (59%) record w/minimal post-season success....would he be on OUr chopping block?

Also them wanting a presser on Friday makes sense if Blevins' info is true. They probably want to get the word out before the Final Four, let it get digested before college hoops goes on holiday.

With the lack of success our program has had lately, it would probably only make a small burp in the media if we announced our coach towards mid April.

Plus, this would probably set things up so there would be a coach at the Final Four checking things out that is actually representing OU.
