OU needs this game. OU really needs Grooms, Clark, Blair, Neal and the rest of the bench to score some points. They don't have to go crazy but OU needs production from all of those guys. We need a combind 15 from Grooms and Clark and we need 10 from our bench or a combination of 25 from Grooms, Clark and the bench. For the most part, we can count on Osby, Fitz and Pledger to score 40 or more between them but we need the other production.
The primary reason I think OU will be substantially better next season is becasue I believe Fitz, Osby and Pledger will get their 40 points a game and I think Grooms, Clark, M'Baye, Blair, Hield, Hornbeak, Neal and Henry will consistently give us 30 a game. If you think about it, that is not much production. Grooms and Clark are averaging 14.3 per game this season. I truly believe they will be better next season. I also believe M'BAye is going to carry the bulk of the remaining load. OU does not need much from Hield, Hornbeak, Blair, Neal and Henry. They just need them to hit open shots. A few consistent points a game will make a big difference. Just imagine if one of Hield, Hornbeak or Neal could consistently get 2 wide open 3 point looks a game and hit one. That alone is 3 points. One trip to the line and one other made basekt for all of them combined should amount to consistently getting 6.5 per game (that is a 75% combined free throw shooting and I think they can do that).
