OU vs #11 ISU 5pm CST on ESPNU

The crowd helped the team too. Great 4th quarter.

Is Bijan a starter after this game? He clearly has the higher ceiling.

You can't turn it over. Still turned it over 3 or 4 times. And defense will also be better with Goldwire. Plus Bijan is gonna still be inconsistent.

Props to Moser for having the courage to play Bijan over Goldwire down the stretch. Don’t think we win if that doesn’t happen.

The arrival of Bijan Cortes. Love it. I thought we were in deep trouble down 11. The team responded and they did it with defense. What a turnaround iver the last 12 minutes. Wow. Great win. We needed that.

We shot 61.7% including 58.3 from 3. That means we probably shot around 90% in the 4th quarter.

I haven’t watched the game yet, but gamecast says that ISU shot 1 free throw for the entire game. Is that right?

I get that and don't disagree with your basic point. We play Bijan, we're gonna get some plays like the one where he lost the ball dribbling into three players. I think you gotta roll with him though. He just seems to have the ability to make plays happen.

Goldwire plays solid D and he doesn't make the same mistakes but he also doesn't make things happen. I think the team itself is good enough to absorb the occasional Freshman mistake if it comes with the kind of playmaking ability Bijan has been showing.

Yes. At end of game. They didn’t hit bonus until (I think) less than 2 minutes remaining and we never fouled them while shooting. Seems like they either beat us and had easy shots or they took tough jumpers. At the end they were all tough jumpers.

It’s not an either/or. They will both play a lot and they will both be up and down. I doubt he changes the starting lineup based on one stretch in one game, especially since we have been very good at getting off to good starts. But I’m sure Bijan will play a lot more minutes if he shows today wasn’t a fluke.

I think Goldwire still starts. And Cortes gets more and more min.

A great, great win (the Sooner women had a great comeback win in Lawrence, too). Loved seeing Cortes be so key to the win. I always thought he looked like a special player, and many posters here downplayed him when we signed him.

As for Cortes' turnovers, he had three today, but Goldwire had two. I'm not dogging Goldwire -- I think he's a key player for us -- but three turnovers for a true freshman against a top 15 team is hardly anything to fret over.

Lost in the shuffle a bit, but very nice job by Jacob. Gave us very good minutes and some big buckets when we needed them.

Good to see Mo played better today....hit his threes and twos.

He has to be a threat from the 3.:dance005:

We beat Iowa State because we're more mentally and physically tough. Quite simple, really. ISU has better shooters, they're quicker and they're prettier to watch. But they can't match us for toughness and determination. And Moser has got these kids really believing in themselves.

Its already his team. Hes a good coach.

It's time to just play Bijan over Goldwire. I'd rather take the lumps with a freshman, than a senior who still does not bring a single thing offensively.

Great call. I do not believe Goldwire came back into the game until the final minutes. Bijan put on a show. Wow!
