Iran takes cargo ship

This one is a head scratcher. Iran took a Marshall Island flagged cargo ship. That is basically taking an American Flagged ship. I don't understand how they think this will help them get the nuclear deal they want.

We want them both pumping oil along with Iraq to keep prices down while we transition to alternative sources. Neither of them are better than the other. We have always sucked at picking sides in the Middle East. Sunni vs Shia, none of our business.

The Iran Nuclear negotiations are completely separate from all other disagreements. It's on an island to itself. They give full transparency and inspections and we reduce the sanctions that were tied specifically to the program. Tit for tat.

Surely you do not actually believe it is acceptable for Iran's Navy to attack a US protected ship in International waters. The US navy did nothing but display a show of force. Iran voluntarily turned its fleet.
