Is our recruiting class enough?

In all honesty, Boulder, I want you to be correct. It's just that I think this same thing every year, and seemingly every year I end up wrong...by changing my thinking, I hope to be wrong again. In the meantime, I will still hope we can find someone who can help us next year. I like Campbest's suggestion of a graduate transfer.

I think it could be the Juco big I mentioned a few days back. Graduate transfers are a hard to find that help right away.

I asked about Cunningham a few days ago. From the response, I sensed that Bradley may be in the lead for him. I asked if they had a backup plan. The quick and firm response was YES.

I'm of the belief that they really are in the market for a player that can come in and help right away.

Did you have a name, Coach? I think I missed that.

Something to consider as well, with all of us essentially agreeing that McNease might redshirt, that essentially keeps 3 scholarships in the class next year if we add another player this year. While we will only get to recruit 2 new faces, look at whoever we add in the late period as essentially in that class but gets to play earlier. We will lose 3 (2 players if it's a juco) in this class, and 3 kids in the next class.

I think it's important to maintain that kind of balance in scholarship numbers from class to class, especially to have some good positional balance for when we get the big loss of Spang, Buddy, Hornbeak and Cousins all leaving at once. Will need to have some experience and talent at each position to help overcome this. Maybe by then, our program will be a lot better, will be working on a new arena, and we can lure some top 50 kids to help fill the void

McNease redshirting doesn't affect the number of scholarships we'd have available for the 2015 class. As of right now, we still have 3 scholarships available for that class. If we add another player to the 2014 class, we'd only have 2 spots for 2015 (unless we add a transfer that will only play next season only).

I know, I was saying you could basically warp your mindset a little and look at it as bringing in 3 guys this class, and 3 guys next class if we were to sign another, and redshirt McNease.

Cam's replacement will honestly only be expected to rebound and play defense, I think. The loss of his offensive production will need to come from improvement from the sophomores and freshmen.
