OK, let me start this by stating that the Oklahoma Basketball Program has really nice players roaming the courts these days, however Isaiah Cousins is only National Media coverage away from being considered an All American candidate (2nd or 3rd team - honorable mention). This kid plays his arse off night in and night out, his confidence is soaring at an All American level right now. He plays hard, plays good defense, his handles are there too, and his shot - this part of his game is vastly improved. Cousins should be mentioned with Thomas and Buddy as Big 12 all conference players. He is a beast folks. JMTCW...........

Flame Away....................

You didn't even mention his rebounding. He is averaging 6.5 boards per game. That is very good for a perimeter player.

Right now all the way around Cousins is playing better than Buddy.

Gotta be more consistent to get considered for any National awards.

Seems it's feast or famine for him most nights. Gotta do away with the 2 for 8, and 3 for 11 type games.

Thanks Denver, did not even mention his rebounding. That little stat was in my thoughts, just over looked it in my post. Nice catch!

WTSooner, agreed but I think the hard work and the dedication may be paying off. The lights seem to be on, and bright right now. I realize it is a long grind, but he is a really solid player and capable of earning those type of considerations.

Let's have this discussion at the end of the year guys long season ahead no need for divisiveness now we need unity

I suspect that when he cools off then Buddy will start to pick it up. Then, about tournament time, they both will be ON.

Nice player......I do wish he would put a little more arc on his shots.;)

Isaiah, Buddy, and TaShawn are going to be our 1st 3 options to score in some order. Then Ryan. Then Jordan. I like having that many options but we don't necessarily need all 5 of them to be "on" every night. I don't think it's being divisive. A defense can shut any one player down. It just means someone else can pick up the team when needed.

Isaiah has stepped up his game a notch. I didn't think he was in sync our first few games this season but he is now. Kudos.

+1.

Multiple scoring threats is a key ingredient to any elite team.

Ou has quite of a few guys who can have a good night scoring the ball.

Attendance isn't going to happen for this one. Probably never will for games as poorly positioned as this (Bad opponent, early tip off, mid week of the holiday season with no students around).

It never hurt the Flopper.

Article came out today from Sporting News. Duke and Uconn has to resort to Groupon to sell out their games. Its a common theme in NCAA hoops.. Even for the ELITES.

Very true, and it's been that way for sometime. I posted an article two years ago with quotes from Coach K complaining about the attendance at Cameron Indoor, an arena with a capacity of only 9,314 seats. So, it's not just OU.

The article in the link below proves that even a basketball conference like the ACC is suffering through declining attendance. The article was written in 2012, but the other articles I found shows that nothing has changed since then. If anything, it's worse.

This article also offers some good reasons for the decline.

The article below ran in February of this year. The SEC's attendance was down so much, conference officials asked ESPN for help. I found a similar article that focused on the Pac-12.

This quote from one of the above articles pretty much sums it up:

Entering this season, the average crowd nationally at men's basketball games had declined six straight years

So, you see, folks, poor attendance is a problem everywhere. And, as CoachTalk correctly points out, even the elite schools haven't been able to put butts in seats for every game.

Same reason I'm glad OU's football renovations aren't adding a bunch of seats, but rather enhancing the fan experience. It's just too easy now days to watch these games on tv, especially when you don't live in the immediate area.

Some were bemoaning our poor attendance in tonight's in-game thread, but it's no better in Stillwater where the stands are no more than 10% filled, and perhaps less than that.

Kentucky, Kansas, and Duke (in that order) seem to be the only ones who can consistently fill their buildings.
