ISU is a deep and balanced team. Niang is not the only one who can score. Ten players on their roster average double figures in minutes played. Their five starters average double figures in scoring. That's what makes them so hard to defend.
All five starters are dangerous from deep, and three of them (Niang, Long and Hogue) average better than 40% from behind the arc. We can't give up second and third chance shots like we did against TTU and hope to win.
ISU lost to Baylor because the Bears were a +12 on the boards. The loss at Tech was a bit of a fluke in that ISU shot 19% from three. Thus, IMO, the keys to beating the Cyclones is to do a good job of guarding the three and winning the battle on the boards. Easier said than done, to be sure. But I believe OU will be up to the task tonight. Sooners in a close one!
