It is nice to have basketball season

With the melt down on the football boards it is really nice to have basketball season and this group of fans. I think most of us are pretty reasonable. It gets old reading all the football fans talk about how stupid the coaches are.

LOL! I've had to completely stay away from the football boards. I'm a huge Sooners football fan, but those boards are just crazy after the loss to Baylor. Thank the Lord for OU basketball (and Lon Kruger).

I agree with you all. I'll be honest: I really don't understand why everyone gets excited about football in the first place. I've seen nothing lately that has given me any reason to hope we're going to be a national contender. With respect to the basketball team, I see improvement and better recruiting which gives me hope. I said this on another post and I'll say it here - with the big men scheduled to come in next year, OU will be in the Final Four in 2016.

I usually frequent the Scout board for OU football. I gave up going there the other day. The meltdown is epic, even though they are performing pretty much what everyone thought they would at the beginning season. I can't go there anymore, so hopefully you will see more of me here.

BOOMER SOONER and I can't wait until tipoff tonight. Thank You Sooner Sports TV on Fox Sport OK!! Live in Kansas and starting last year, pretty much get to see every game on TV, at least the ones where I don't go to the game.

Well said. I am excited to watch the growth and progress of the OU basketball program under Lon Kruger. Based on what we can see with our own eyes, there is reason to believe the program will continue to improve in the near future.

However, if we had the same amount of success in basketball as we've had in football, I'm sure our fans would become just as spoiled and unreasonable as the people on the football boards are. The reasonable people have just about deserted the football boards, leaving only the irrational and the unreasonable.

Yeah I still look at the scout football site just to get a good laugh. I even saw a thread that was titled "IS THE TALENT LEVEL NOW THE SAME AS COACH BLAKE'S LAST YEAR?" Lol I hadn't been to this board in a long time until recently, but it's so nice to be able to come here and have actual intelligent conversations about a team. It's also nice to see that differences of opinions can be discussed in a civil way and by not getting in message board fights and threatening to meet to beat each other up. I get so tired of that. Just because someone thinks different doesn't mean you have to hate them and say they're not a "real fan". It's terrible over there on the scout football forum.

Exactly! It is the success that brings out the ridiculous comments. People are pretty reasonable about basketball because the program was so bad for three seasons. Once Kruger starts knocking off 20+ wins per season and making the NCAA every year fans will say that isn't good enough and it is easy. However, I doubt many of us will fall into that group. I am virtually positive you won't.
