It makes sense that Xavier...

Oh he played a nice game. I was more referring to the barking play. It seems like one could be more selective when you talk noise. For example, the Willie/Sherron trash talking duel last year was great and seemed to be in good fun between 2 top flight players. When a guy crosses over a guy, and uses a screen lol, who can't move laterally without pain in a 20 point game and pulls up for a jump shot (not even a 3 or nice take) when he is the 4th or 5th best player on the team, it's a bit odd.

Guy's talk trash too much when it's not really the time. OU players do it in football and basketball, so I'm not intending to pick on Xavier, he was just the latest.

I see what you're saying and I agree. I think it's this generation that feels the need to mean mug after making an open jump shot as if they just did something amazing. It's stupid.

T Crock's ankle is fine. I doubt he's using it as an excuse. He's said it's fine and like Quick, a trainer, said it's fine. Regardless he was out on the court and playing. He should be treated like everyone else and I guarantee you that is what he would tell you.
I doubt he wanted Xavier or any other Jayhawk feeling bad for him or giving him sympathy. I don't think X's "what" hurt his feeling too bad. LOL
It's a competitive basketball game Play. That's why chess isn't on TV.

I didn't say anything about his ankle. You're going to have to keep up with the flow of conversation and all the information if you're going to single a poster out.

Nobody asked for sympathy for Crocker, nobody said Crocker asked for it. Putting words into someone's mouth (such as the sweeping generalizations) is weak. This is about a guy celebrating at an odd time, given odd circumstances, not about if it's a competitive game, lol

So, in review (maybe this is needed) is Crocker's injury one of the reasons or "excuses" for Xavier to hold off on the barking? Of course it is. The other reasons were covered in a previous post.

You lost me at "good post, buttermaker"! LOL.

I agree scoring on an injured player isn't that impressive but not all the scoring was on him if I remember correctly. Either way starting out 8-8 is pretty dang impressive.

Still trying to figure out what is so funny about laughing at a injuried player trying like heck to help his team. You guys need to explain that one to the sooner fans since you are over here in our yard making fun of a OU player.

He'll definitely have nightmares of Xavier Henry.
Capel's comment at half was funny when they asked him how to stop X he said change who's guarding him. Yanked Crocker and put Cade on him.

Well, I've done a lot of things I've regretted on the court. I'm sure if you played ball in the past you have probably acted like a punk on the court too. I honestly don't what play you're talking about but I doubt Xavier was really trying to make fun of an injured player.

I'm impressed with Xavier Henry the basketball player. Xavier Henry the person? No so much.

I think he was referring to Cheno, not Xavier.

As an aside, I doubt buttermaker has played much ball.

Correct laughting at a player with an injury that is giving 110% and our coach. Do it on the Phog not here in our yard.

I can't wait until Eggzavior plays in Norman next year.

When did I laugh at Tony Crocker? That's weak. Tony Crocker is one of the few guys on this team that brings it every night. You are the one that said that X "abused" him...not me.

I'm sure he can't wait either. Should be fun if it happens.
Do you see him leaving? I think he has a lot to gain by coming back. Work on his ball-handling, become more of the lead guy on the perimeter.

I just don't know how much he can gain as far as draft status. He won't be any more athletic next year and that is the biggest thing hurting him. Also, this isn't a real deep SG class in terms of the draft. I think he can really improve as a player but don't know that he'll ever go higher than the 12-20 range.

I don't know if his stock can get any higher. He's panned out athletically, and I don't ever see him being a Top 5 pick.

With that being said, I think he can refine his game to where he can be a better overall player. As you mentioned his ballhandling needs some tuning, and being the guy opponents key on instead of being the 2nd or 3rd option on the team could benefit him as well.

Yea those are good points. I don't see him ever having enough potential to be a lottery. There are tons of Xavier Henry's in the NBA.

If he is eager to go to the NBA, maybe he should just go.

I don't know Play and I really don't even have a gut feeling on it. I really don't get to into that anyways. I just enjoy the ride. X is a great player but KU is fine either way. I agree with what Grace said...I think he'll be in that 12-20 range regardless of when he goes. If I was X I'd talk Cole into coming back one more year with me and let's make another run. Cole would do it.

Yeah, I think Michael Redd is a pretty good comparison. They are both average athletes who get by with terrific stroke. I think Redd handled it more creatively but Henry has a better body and finishes better at the rim at the same stage. The thing that might hurt Henry is whether or not he can move well enough to run people off screens like Redd has/does.

I think Henry is a 10-12 year NBA player. He does everything well and has a great attitude. He just doesn't have the ceiling that other guys do.
