Hey Gregg, I mean Greenbug, have you actually watched Gregg coach? He is a middle of the road coach. He can recruit decently. That's it. Go watch their games. He is beating teams that have less talent right now.

I want a coach that has the ability to beat teams that are flat out better than his. He has shown he can't do that. Look at his regular season schedule. He won the games he was supposed and lost the ones the same. I have personally been to several games this year where he either lost or nearly lost the game based on ridiculous end-of-the-game decision.

Please make this STOP!!!

p.s. YOu keep asking people to say why OU shouldn't hire him. Please tell us why OU should hire him? And don't give me the winthrop crap. Please tell me how he is an effective coach? How well does he run practices? See I am a close friend of one of his ex-GA's. Have you been to his practices?

The MVC is really tough though. Right?

It's not like Marshall took over a team that was in the basement of the MVC for eternity. They were a year removed from a Sweet 16 run under Mark Turgeon.

That is not a valid argument against Marshall. OU is two years removed from an Elite Eight, if that means anything?

Wichita State was 17-14 (8-10 in the MVC) in Turgeon's last season, which is not a rousing endorsement for the team Marshall inherited. He has done a good job there, and I wouldn't mind seeing his name mentoned prominently as a candidate to be our next coach.

The great Mark Turgeon was at Wichita State for 7 years. He made the tournament 1 time. It took him until his 6th year to make it.

wichita state and creighton have more resources than anyone else in the mvc. they should finish at the top every year. marshall, given the natural advantages at wsu, has done no better than status quo. you could argue that he's underperformed.

certainly, anyone that makes that argument for barnes should apply it equally to marshall.

By that rationale Turgeon also underperformed. I feel like Turgeon has done a pretty good job at A&M.

There were 2 contributors left from the sweet 16 team In Marshall's first year surrounded by a lot of guys that Turgeon should not have signed (think Capel's class last year mi us Clark and probably NeaL). One of the returners sufferred a couple of concussions throughout his jr and sr years and he finished his career wearing what looked like a sparring helmet in order to be able to play. Other than that, Turgeon left the cupboard bare.

I'll agree he is not the best bench coach but there aren't a lot of those left that are on OU's list. His teams are well prepared.

Would you not agree that this run through the NIT has not included beating teams that are perceived to be better than WSU? Beat Nebraska by 20+, beat VA Tech on the road and destroyed Wash St by 31 the other night.

He would be a solid hire for OU but it appears from the Raleigh media that he is NC State's first choice. So some of you may get your wish...
