Jaliya Davis 2025 Offer

I thought I read that somewhere. Could be mistaken. If she’s unofficially visiting that’s not a good sign for our chances

I saw that Jayila’s AAU teammate Jayda Porter was in for an unofficial visit this weekend also. Jayda is a 6’3” PF in the 2026 class and she is ranked #29 by ESPN and #37 by Jr All Stars Girls. Her brother is NBA player Michael Porter.

Pictures from the visit…Jayila and Aaliyah are in a couple of the photos with Jayda

I don’t know why it says the link is broken but when I click the “Visit Instagram” link it takes me to the photos.

If the Davis kid is even a tenth as tough as her daddy (one of my favorite players), I sure hope she picks OU. William was nails. Short for an inside guy but an absolute bull in the paint. Really good player. Hopefully, she has grown up an OU fan.

Hope the Davis young lady is getting some guidance from her Dad. These legacy things sometimes don't work out ala the Oubre kid, who ended up at KU.
Let's cross our fingers and see what happens. JB is doing a great job at OU.

For all the great work JB is doing, she needs to land more elite prospects. She has done well with the above-average recruits, but not really the elite, top 10-15 recruits. Parks, Davis, Chavez, at least one of them, if not multiple. Parks is 5 minutes from campus. It isn't like when UCONN stole Hansmeyer, and OU was a dreck program. OU is a top-20 program, and should get a hometown girl easily,, unless they just aren't ponying up on NIL. 1 or 2 above-average recruits a class isn't going to do it anymore, unfortunately.

I disagree about getting a hometown girl easily. Plenty of college aged kids want to explore new areas away from home for college.

Our graphics team did a cool video for Jayila also

Click on the "Visit Instagram" link and it should take you to the post.

Some kids want to leave. Most kids leave their hometown for college experience

Jb is doing great. She landed an all American big to join our team that returned everyone!

Just read over on OU 247 site that Jaliya’s dad is former Sooner player William Davis.
Cool, I taught/coached in kck, after Davis graduated from Wyandotte. I always loved how he played the game.

I went to HS with Greg Dreiling (7’ for ku 81-85?) and Davis played him well.. only at 6’5, from what I remember.

I always wondered what he was up to.

Kelly Newton was coaching kck juco girls at one time.

100% agree

Just my uneducated opinion, but the only men's coaches we have had that knew anything about coaching back to the basket low post offense were tubbs and capel. To be fair, the game has seemingly moved away from that offense approach and is totally focused on perimeter shooting, even with the bigs. One of the reasons I like William Davis was his ability to defend, score and rebound in the paint at his height. I don't know what he does for a living, but I wished the basketball coaches at OU, men's and women's, would let him teach them how it is done in the paint. It kills me to see the ball stick in the hands of a big in the post, dribble or not move into their shot as a part of the catch.

Will be interesting to watch the Davis kid, wherever she goes, to see if daddy took the time to teach her a thing or two about how it is done in the low post, or whether he has tried to develop her into a "modern" big. Man, the early Tubbs years were fun to watch. Just loved it. Billy could teach a dwarf how to score in the low post.

He was one of my favorite players....highly underrated and underappreciated at OU.

In college basketball, do any kids come in at semester like in football. If not, it might be a while before these kids make a decision. When is the early signing date (if we still have one)?

The high school season doesn’t end until March so the will all be in their state tournaments until March. They all come to school in June and practice during the summer…they take a couple of weeks off in August and go home or take a vacation…then come back when school starts.

Signing period this year is November13th to November 20th so I would expect a decision by then.

Nearly impossible to get a forward/center that South Carolina wants. Maybe proximity to home can help sway her decision.

We find out Tuesday. I see she reposted the below tweet so it is official that she will announce.
