2025 Recruiting Class

Makes you think either Parks is who Jennie was referring to, or someone changed their mind.

Hopefully OU doesn't whiff on both. Would be a very, VERY bad beat for Jennie. Recruiting is more than half of her job, IMO. Great players make up for a lot of shortcomings.

Parks or Chavez must commit or we are going to have a down year next year. JB has to keep momentum going if we want to be a top 10 team every year.

“Davis staying home and going to KU. Guess the lure of home is too strong no way that program is on par with OU, So Car or Texas”

Or even Hypocrite U!

I agree, the portal can give us instant productivity whereas high school players sometimes need a season if not more to adjust and contribute. I hope Parks doesn't commit to KU along with Davis 😞

The portal has been huge for us. Just worry it won’t always work out. Kinda risky to rely on
I agree. This is why I think we get 2 more commit’s and get 2 out of the portal.

We have 2 scholarships filled. Now we 4 more scholarships available for next season. I think 2 more will be for commits and the other 2 will be for the transfer portal.

Payton announced she does have another year of eligibility in the radio post game after Wichita State game!

Bummer on Davis…sounds like ku is getting some good kids

Well I don’t feel good about our chances with OU getting Keeley Parks.

Maybe we can get Aaliyah or someone else?

Jennie did say they weren’t done yet!

I think Aaliyah has mentioned she likes and talks to Jennie often and she said she really likes how Jennie’s teams play free. If she’s in it for relationship and style of play, I like our chances. If she’s in it for money, not so much.

I think everyone is overcomplicating this. In the era of NIL, some kids choose to go to the highest bidder and that is their right as a business decision. Gone are the days where the winner had the best culture, best facilities and a winning program. Now, not every kid decides this way, but those kids normally don't wait till the last possible day to decide where they will be going. In 10 years in the Big`12, KU's coach has never finished better than 5th place...and that was once. Outside of that 1 year, his best finish was 7th place or worse. Davis didn't go there because it was the hometown team, she went because they promised her the most amount of money. Is there a possibility that she picked KU because she thought her experience would be better, they would prepare her better for the next level and she could win a lot of ball games versus going to South Carolina, Texas, Baylor or OU??? Easy answer to that.

Same is true with Parks...follow the money as she had offers from lots of quality schools with winning programs. KU offered her the most amount of money and she took it, regardless of whether or not they actually pay the entire amount remains to be seen. Time will tell and honestly, that is ok for her to make her decision that way. It is sad, but the reality. I can't even imagine how this new era of NIL plays out in football and mens basketball. Nuts.

Unfortunately the same is true with Chavez. If she makes it all about money, she will go to Tech, similar to NiJaree Canady choosing Texas Tech with a first year head coach. If she digs deeper and looks at what system is a better fit for her style of play she will choose OU. If she to better be known as a defender and build that skill, she will choose UT. Long term her brand could best be built in a high flying offensive system on a team that will win...which is why OU is a good fit. She will not have the stats at UT like she would have here and it would only make sense if she wanted to be known for her defensive play vs. offensive play which is what Vic's system & playing time rewards. With Harmon and Booker both coming back next year, she also would not be the focal point of the team...but thats up to her to decide what she values most. Money - Tech, System - OU, Defensive Priority - UT. All are ok, even if its sad that highschool seniors have to make "business" decisions in lieu of "best fit" decisions.

The worst part to all of this, is that it isn't the kids fault. This is the position we have put them in and we can't blame them for that.

Park’s sister left the state to play basketball and her dad has been mentioned to want her to go away and explore other places so I think that had a lot to do with her going to KU.

Let's quit calling it NIL what a farce that a kid who has never accomplished anything at the collegiate level is worth that for marketing. It's pay for play pure and simple, buying recruits. I will be interested to see how long Davis and Parks last at KU because round two of pay for play, the transfer portal, is coming if they aren't happy.

Another thing is I wish Jennie was recruiting Talia Vann. She is pretty good, 6’3 forward that is very underrated. Has really good ball handling skills and can shoot from all 3 levels just like Zya. I notice Skylar doesn’t have the near ball handling skills has like Zya and Talia but Skylar is most definitely the stronger sister out of Zya and Talia.
