Jarion Henry tweets about enrolling at OU

He is probably 22. He has had 3 yrs. in JC and a year at a prep school since leaving HS.

That is what I thought. Was going to go research it in a bit.

Which begs the question, how much eligibility would he even have left at OU? 2 years to play 1? Not sure if he redshirted in JUCO or not.

I really don't think he is going to end up at OU. Anybody that difficult to get enrolled "probably" isn't worth the effort, especially for only a season or two.

Plus for him personally, he could probably start at a decent mid major. He might barely see the floor at OU.

A couple of those schools were short stays. IF and I DONT think he will come to OU, he'd have 2 years left.
Athletic 3 man. He'd see the floor. His JUCO team is top 12 in the country.

He's not coming though!

He is like everyone else. He has 5 yrs. to play 4. He grey shirted or redshirted his 1st yr. at JC. That was Redlands I think.

What does grey shirted mean?

Is it enrolling in college when you are not academically eligible?

I looked this up when Arent came to OU. He "greyshirted" his 1st year at JC and then played 2 yrs. From my unreliable memory it goes something like this.

The 5 yr clock starts from the 1st time they enroll in JC. No scholarship and no formal practice with the team. The player would probably have access to the gym and training facilities.

For a guy like Arent, it was a coach getting a project type on campus, working him out, and putting on a training program. Then, if he is progressing, put him on scholarship the next year.

For Henry, he might not have been eligible.

RJ at rivals has a source confirm that OU is no longer pursuing Jarion Henry. We can finally put this to rest. I'm sure it's still a grade thing, which is too bad. His last month basically he is averaging 15.8 pts and 14.2 rebounds.
