Jarion Henry tweets about enrolling at OU

Under Personal:
Would like to transfer to the University of Oklahoma...
Never seen a commitment phrased quite like that. Henry is like that horrible accident on the highway. You don't want to look and you know what it probably looks like but you can't help it.
What it comes down to is the kid is an athletic, versatile, 6-10 forward who could contribute and the son of an alum. If Coach wants him, sign me up. If he doesn't, I hope this all still ends well for the kid but I don't want to hear anymore about him...

Well he just started his first game out of four played. His score/rebound averages are pretty pedestrian for Juco.

He's coming back off of an injury. Knee or hamstring, I can't remember.

OU coaches will not accept Henry and are amazed that this is still being talked about.
They have given him 2 chances and will not do it again.

I doubt if more than a handful of posters on this board are taking what they read or hear seriously anymore.

Even if they are, it's time to wish Jarion well and move on. One glance at our 2014 commits and the bigs OU is recruiting for the future, should be enough to convince even the casual observers that our coaches did that long ago.

RJ Young on Rivals seems to still believe one of our scholarships is still being held for Henry, but he is monitoring the situation. Would love to know how he is playing and if this is really something we even want, let alone if it ever will.

Looked at his game long from the last page, and have to say it's less than impressive. Even if he is coming off an injury, he has played 6 games now and is averaging 7.2 pts and 5.8 rebounds as a 6'10 Forward.

He did have one game with 11 pts, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in 34 min on 5-7 shooting and a 3? But I have to think he needs to show some more to still earn our roster spot.

He's 26 yrs old now. He's a grown man playing with 18yr olds...

If Jarion wants to come to OU as a walk on and his grades are in order, I would be all for adding him to our roster, mainly because he's the son of a former Sooner great. But, there is no way I would be happy if he occupies one of our valuable scholarships.

Bringing him in as a scholarship player would be a huge gamble at best. If he can't perform at a high level as a student and as a player at a junior college, why would anyone think he will suddenly blossom into a good student and an impact player at a school like OU?

As far as I'm concerned, this ship sailed a long time ago. But that's just me. I'm not calling the shots on this one, and maybe that's a good thing.

Just posting an update, as someone on another board said he was tweeting the other night he still wants at OU, couldn't find it but looked up his stats anyways.

Definitely back in shape, as he's now averaging 11 pts and 9 reb, 4 assist per game. Just won a tourney MVP and his last few games have looked like:

20 pts, 16 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk, 4 TO
16 pts, 14 reb, 3 ast, 1 blk, 2 TO
9 pts, 11 reb, 5 ast, 2 blk, 5 TO

seems he is getting better and more dominant at 6'10, so maybe he gets his grades in line and we can get him to walk on or something this fall.

He is probably 22. He has had 3 yrs. in JC and a year at a prep school since leaving HS.

stats

Doesn't appear more developed than Lattin even after the prep/juco work. I prefer the high school guy Kruger can spend 4/5 years with.
