Joe Lunardi's Bracketology has us back to 3 seed

That is an interesting bracket in that OU would play Butler in the second round and Wisconsin in the third round.

Yeah I think joe has even said that he doesn't take ANY of that into account. His is just based of strictly performance and records and stuff. He doesn't take into account teams playing each other again or being from the same conference and stuff. How giddy does it make you to see our sooners as a 3 seed though? Man that would be great! If we don't win our first round game this year I don't know when we will! Haha

Interesting seeds for 7 Big-12 teams.

2 .. Kansas
3 .. Iowa State
3 .. Oklahoma
5 .. Baylor
6 .. West Virginia
8 .. Oklahoma State
12 .. Texas

I agree but if you were a top 30 type team would you want to play Texas in the first round? That is a big front court. They are very beatable but they can also cause problems.

They would be a tough out based on talent, but March is determined usually by guard play.

Do Wichita State, Northern Iowa and VCU (all projected 5 seeds) have more talented guards than Texas?

Texas is on life support

Yes, and the supply of oxygen is leaking at a rapid pace.

UT has to be the biggest disappointment in college basketball this season. They were picked to finish second in the Big 12 preseason poll, just four points behind KU. Now, they're in 8th place with a losing record that is three games under .500. Even worse, they could easily be on the outside looking in for an NCAA tourney bid.

I haven't been on a Longhorn board in years. I wonder how their fans are reacting to this latest case of Barnes underachieving as a coach? You're right about their guards, but Rick has to accept some of the blame for that too. This year's UT team is proof that games aren't won by the number of stars by a player's name. It takes the right blend of personalities and skills at every position, not to mention good team chemistry to compete at a high level.

New AD, terrible slide to end the season...writing is on the wall for Barnes.

Most of their basketball fans wanted him gone before this season....and it appears the results of this season further justify their claim. To me, you can see the talent, but like you said, that team simply doesn't mesh together very well. If it isn't turnovers, then it's poor outside shooting. If it isn't focus, then it's bad shot selection/decision making. There are several problems that consistently doom that team...but ironically, it's never the same problem game to game. I think a better coach could turn that program around immediately.

Brad Stevens says he's staying with the Celtics but you just wonder if he could be tempted by some 10 year $75 million deal with Texas.

Basketball is the sport that could really make the Longhorn network profitable.

God I hope not, Texas becomes a real problem if someone like that takes over.

That would be crazy. it basically three times what Barnes makes and would (or might) cause the entire conference to substantially increase pay. The link below says Self makes just under $5,000,000 and Barnes makes about $2,500,000.

I did not realize Coach K makes so much. I also found it interesting that Roy Williams makes substantially less than Bill Self.

Ok well this just blew my f***ing mind....Kruger makes more the Jim B and Roy Williams??? How the hell do those guys not make more then him? They both have national titles and are 2 of the most winningest coaches in the NCAA...
