Josh Pastner a serious candidate?

Pastner or Kruger would have me turning cartwheels. I honestly would take either of them over Buzz.

Not sure, but at this point I think I might agree with you on that. However, I've still not read anything that has me completely convinced we're out of the running for Williams' services.

One thing I will say about Pastner is he is a TIRELESS recruiter. When he was an assistant and Arizona he would hand write mailouts that he would send to a TON of schools in Texas. When I coached in Texas I would get the mailouts and I emailed him one day to ask him a question. He emailed back the same day and we responded quite a bit. He is a very genuine guy and does a good job. Very friendly and very down home type.

I actually think OU fans would REALLY like him....and those that don't like the hire would probably warm up to him pretty quick.

By the way....when he got the Memphis job I emailed him to congratulate him and he took the time to respond to me. Gotta like guys who take the time to do that when they are as busy as a DI head coach is.

The only OU coach I ever emailed was Sampson after hearing him speak at a clinic. He took the time to have his secretary email me back. LOL

someone over on soonerscoop is one of Pastner's best friends and he said he will only tells us that talks between OU and Him have started up again and he will not tell us anything further because of the respect he has for him.

I would be ecstatic if true. I question his x's and o's a bit, but he is mature for his age, has the ties we're looking for, and unlike Capel, I really think he'll upgrade the talent we've seen on campus.

Cgates is a quality poster and it looks as though Pastner is listening to what OU is selling. Pastner would be a fantastic hire, I know a lot of Zona fans wanted to go after him when they were searching for a coach because everyone believed he would be big time.

I wouldn't be surprised. I just can't think that Joe would fire someone just to get in a horrible situation. I think Joe is piling out the money and Pastner will probably bite.
